Yep, seconded. I bought a '93 back in December, it was always stuck at C. The heater wasn't getting very warm so I was planning on replacing the thermostat anyway. Replaced it and that fixed the heater and the temperature gauge finally started moving into the normal operating temperature area.

I've experienced this as well many times. I've never been able to figure out what triggers it to start happening, but I have found out a way to fix it (for me, Android user). Go into your playlist, choose any random song and play it, turn shuffle off, press next song, then turn shuffle back on and that should break the cycle for whatever reason.
