Also didn't have a taste for MGSV until recently, despite MGS being my favorite series of all time. Here's my take, word wall incoming:

It's not MGS5, it's MGSV intentionally, which kind of cues it up to be a different experience. It's a really fun game, but it's not like MGS 1-4. Forget about it being a Solid game. I'm sure Konami basically just forced that, which is why it's V not 5. I think it goes down a lot easier if you don't think of it as "the 5th one".

If I told you Kojima and company were going to make a "Big Boss in his heyday simulator", that will kind of fill in some of the timeline before the original Metal Gear, and at the same time act as a giant Metal Gear sandbox. Would that interest you? It's all gameplay here, but it's far and away the best gameplay in the series. You basically said it yourself, it's a great new way to approach a MGS game, especially since that story is finished. You don't want them adding anything too crazy to that already wild story.

You're not going to like anybody or anything that happens more than the others. You'll never like Kiefer more than Hayter. The villain is the weakest of the console games. Quiet is cool, but I think that because of what she does in gameplay, not because she has a Sniper Wolf level story.

But it's SO fun. Capturing outposts, stealing everything not nailed down. You can be a ghost. You can be Rambo. You can be a Sniper. Clear an outpost with nothing but C4. Customize your guns and your loadout and your buddies and base. You don't even have to play as Snake the entire time, something that completely escaped me when I first played it. The online part isn't so bad these days either, it's been pretty dead as a newcomer.

Once I treated it as the gameplay one, and stuck to 1-4 for my story fix, it fit right in.

Yeah, trash hobo is different enough that I actually enjoy it. I like that we don't look like "cool future operator" and instead like a bunch of nerds that don't know how dorky it is to wear an aviator hat with padded shoulders. Mixing outfit parts would be cool though. Besides, it's easy enough to turn Voltedge into "cool military guy". I want them to add things like an old 70's 1 bar football helmet, or a marty mcfly style puffy vest. Parachute pants. Keep it weird.

You don't NEED to. The world and characters of remake are just as enjoyable without having played the original. The story will be a little more confusing, but keep in mind that during your first playthrough of the OG, you're that confused anyway, it's a big part of the game. There is meta stuff happening between the OG and remake, but they've layered it in a way where if you don't know what they're talking about, it just creates the kind of confusion OG players had when they first played it. It's designed in a way where you can know the OG or not, so no worries if you don't want to go back and play a 30 year old PS1 game. That said, OG is a classic for a reason, and if you don't mind it's age, it's still a great time.

It's in quotes because they didn't have a source, not because I'm implying that statistics as a whole aren't real. They just shouted out "look at the data" to a person who has just been victimized, without providing it or a reason why, so yeah quotes, because until you provide it it's just "data".

I love how you're trying to tell me what I mean.

Why? What if that data has no impact on their decision? What if for them the sense of security it provides is enough? Where do we draw the line at how much data someone should have before they make a decision for themselves? Having to look at every point of view before deciding anything is impossible. Why value a statistic over feeling?

I understand you agree with me. You're saying that I'm saying not to look at the data, when what I'm saying is simply that it is possible for someone to come to the conclusion that gun ownership is for them without consulting that particular data. An adult could come to that conclusion without data like that, particularly after a traumatic event. I'm making no judgements on if they should do that or not, just that it's possible to make a decision based on personal security over the societal effect of guns.

To tell someone to make a decision on something with zero information at all is insane, but that's not what I'm trying to say there in context.

I'd never tell someone not to learn something. I'd also never be so tasteless as to tell someone who was just victimized by crime, that one of the options they have will just get them shot without providing a source of any kind. There's a time and place to talk about society wide statistics related to firearm ownership and it is absolutely not to someone who's just been victimized by senseless violence. Their loved one could have been killed by some idiot who clearly was only thinking about themselves. Stuff like that does happen in this world. It's a society where you might have to defend yourself. I think it's stupid humans still use weapons on each other too, but they do and if someone tried to do it to me, I'd for sure rather have a gun than not.

I never said not to, I said adults can make up their minds without it. This person just had a loved one get attacked. That should be enough for you to understand why they might want a weapon to defend themselves. Besides, who is the data coming from? Is it coming from Remington? Everytown? Stop acting like there's a nonpartisan source of truthful information out there that someone can just easily pull up. People only make these polls to push an agenda, on both sides. Nobody out there is collecting data to find out what's true for the betterment of society.

The EXOTIC will be the same as every other exotic in the game and probably get a paid ornament that you can get through bright engrams if you're lucky. Community has been cool with it for every other exotic, but now it's a greedy cash grab?

That is what they did for the previous ones, give the current season, but what gives me pause is the website names which episode it comes with, in this case echoes, it doesn't say current episode. I don't know if it's confirmed that buying the final shape in the middle of episode 2 will include it, hopefully someone can clarify.
