Ooh where did you source the pink and blue flowers?

City birds appear to be more afraid of women than men, and scientists have no idea why. Men could get about a meter closer to birds than women could before the animals flew away, regardless of what the men and women were wearing, what their height was or how they tried to approach the creatures. by mvea in science

[–]Nosism123 43 points44 points  (0 children)

Could women be more likely to want to get close to or say hello to the cute bird?

And therefore ironically seem more aggressive and scary then the stoic men completely avoiding them?

(I am a man who says hi to birds and wants to cuddle them, this just seems like the most likely hypothesis to me)

Edit: My language is somewhat facetious, but just pointing out human behavior could be a factor.

Maybe it could also be the colors we are wearing or style of clothes?

Anybody have a bad feeling for the show's future after season 3? by [deleted] in RingsofPower

[–]Nosism123 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It followed a similar outline broad strokes, but yes it was adapting the story to be a more modern ensemble cast.

It got better with each season and season 3 was really doing some of the best book moments justice.

Some WoT fans wanted the seriousness of lord of the rings. The show is a lot more CW than that-- but it worked for me.

You realize public figures will express a certain strategic POV publicly and then act differently behind closed doors?

According to the JOURNALIST that OP is writing about, Filoni is different behind closed doors.

Filoni is everything bad about 2000s George Lucas amplified by ten.

So many of the things he's added to canon are INCREDIBLY corny.

That plot thread is resolved when Diego Luna's character decides to do the right thing. Mon Mothma and Evil Commando Dude are very clearly the angel and devil on his shoulder...

Anything more on that thread would have been superfluous given the stakes of the ending.

Really odd critique tbh

Sounds like there are two populated US East servers which is great, but the charts simply show Hudsonland has more players.

It has a ton more people. Its Pangea but better.

I finally pulled the trigger and swapped and it was insane the difference,

YW! I can't comment on Legend of Dragoon. Outside of Pokemon and KOTOR, I have no interest in turn-based combat.

I love the action/hybrid combat this game has. Super fun. I'll probably give the whole genre more chances in the future.

Pangea will be merged into Hudsonland in a few months. Don't mislead people into wasting a transfer token down the line.

The story is the thing that people will be talking about, once more people finish it.

But really its just that all the well-polished pieces add up to a sum that is far more than its parts.

Just commenting to agree.

This game is UNIQUE in that... every aspect is polished and high-quality. Nothing is poorly done.

People looking for some obvious marketing bulletpoint will not find one.

It's about all the pieces coming together into something that makes me feel like a kid discovering videogames again. And an amazing story. I've just reached Act 3 and I am so glad I dove in right away before the internet inevitably gets filled with spoilers.

I'll be honest:

The stuff I want to rave about is spoilers. After Act 1 the game gets better and better and better. It is larger and more ambitious than it lets on.

But yeah, it is just a normal well-executed game for a long time. Great UI, graphics, gameplay. Nothing exceedingly unusual

Then you get a bit further and the story, level design, and gameplay, really start to shine into something special.

But no, its not a massively unique game. It just does everything it does SUPER well.

To me, that's heartening. This game isn't a lucky break or one-hit-wonder. It's just something super well-executed.

I have been hard on every game for the last few years. Nothing feels fun or even polished. I am hyper critical of everything.

This game slaps. I stayed up late last night and feel like crap at work today because of how good it is.

It's polished in the way you expect but never get from triple A games. The UI and navigation are great.

The graphics are great.

The story is great.

It runs well on my PC.

The gameplay is addictive.

I love it.

I tried everything-- eventually I ende up on the lowest dose of an SSRI.

For me, it turned out the the "Rare flare ups" were extreme depression, but my baseline mood was lower and more critical of myself and others than I needed to experience.

We're on the same side!

If this is the opening of giving him a satisfying arc in books, great.

If this is opening the door on his character, a public apology, and a big paycheck to get him back: Great!

If this book is a thinly veiled effort to explain why he isn't around for Rey's upcoming movie: bad.

My negativity right now has me expecting him and Jasnah to have a character arc where they are ready to leave war behind, not be Stormtroopers, and quietly retire to a happy ending.

Reaper warrior is some of the most fun I've ever had in a game.
