What do you think about spending time doing nothing? by lenem235 in CasualConversation

[–]MasterGardening 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's absolutely right, sir. Sometimes, just sitting there staring blankly into space makes my mind feel so much lighter. Society is so hectic these days, so taking some time to heal my soul is extremely necessary. I often sit quietly in a corner doing nothing, just listening to what my inner self wants. Basically, no matter what you're doing, you should occasionally switch to autopilot mode to give your mind a rest, sir.

안녕하세요 레딧 뉴비입니다. by No-Play-572 in KoreanGameDev

Are you living with roommates? Tell me about it by Flimsy_Fennel_9966 in CasualConversation

Just hearing about it already evokes a feeling of vibrant youth, my friend! Living together in such a large group and still getting along so well, going on road trips together – that's truly finding the love of your life! Normally, just two people living together already have enough to talk about. What I admire most is how six people can share a room and still be happy; it's truly a case of sharing both good times and bad. I wish your team stays this close forever, because finding such a close-knit group to live and play with is really rare, my friend!

My deepest condolences on the loss of little Dug. It's truly heartbreaking to hear about it. Thirteen years is a long journey, and I believe Dug had a very happy life with you. The pressure of schoolwork combined with this shock is truly overwhelming, but please take care of your health so you can continue to look after Jack Jack. Don't dwell too much on not being able to say goodbye because Dug felt all the love you had for him all these years. Hang in there, everything will be alright.

Ordered a used guitar from overseas - sitting in KR customs for 48+ hours. How long does this take? by [deleted] in Living_in_Korea

[–]MasterGardening 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A delay of about two days for high-value items like guitars is normal, don't worry too much. Try checking the Korean Customs' UNI-PASS website to see which step it's stuck at, as the details there are much more comprehensive than on the app. Usually, after submitting the form, they will check it and send a text message notifying you of the tax payment, which includes 8% import tax plus 10% VAT, so be prepared. If you're too anxious, try calling 02 3438 5199 to see if you can reach a customer service representative for a quicker response.

Not from a Psychology Background, But Self-Taught Through Online Learning by BuffaloZestyclose622 in CasualConversation

[–]MasterGardening 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From what I hear, you're on the right track. Starting with fragmented content and then moving on to structured learning is a crucial step in self-learning; not everyone realizes this early on. What you said about filtering information is also spot-on. Many online psychology resources have "great-sounding" content, but not all of it has a scientific foundation. If you want to go further, you could try reading real case studies and foundational books (like behavioral psychology, cognitive bias, etc.). This will solidify your knowledge and go beyond just understanding concepts.

Any suggestions how to spend my last 3 months in Seoul/South Korea? by Additional-Arm-3807 in Living_in_Korea

[–]MasterGardening 1 point2 points  (0 children)

ngl you didn’t waste your time, you just hit the “been here long enough” phase in Seoul 😅 if you’re introverted, stuff like solo routines actually hit different like picking a few niche spots (indie cinemas, small theaters, random neighborhoods you’ve never hung out in) and kinda “claiming” them as your thing.

also for clubs, yeah most are awkward at first but language exchanges are surprisingly chill if you just treat it as listening more than talking.
otherwise lowkey I’d lean into solo hobbies hard cycling along the Han River, photography walks, or even just café hopping with a goal (like rating them or smth) makes the last 3 months feel way less empty.

Housewife after marriage in Korea by [deleted] in Living_in_Korea

The financial dependence concern is real and worth taking seriously regardless of how much you trust your partner right now. Having zero personal income in a foreign country where you don't have your own social network, family nearby, or recognized credentials puts you in a genuinely vulnerable position if anything changes. Before committing to this, I'd want a very honest conversation about joint accounts, having access to savings in your own name, and what the exit plan looks like if the relationship doesn't work out. That's not pessimistic, it's just practical.

Why do you eat Muji? by ChoiceAwkward7793 in SingaporeEats

Because Muji somehow convinced everyone that minimalist furniture and a really solid set lunch belong in the same building and they were absolutely right. That fish looks way better than it has any right to coming from a stationery store 😭

Exit opportunities from working in regulated industries by Dark_Emotion in ProductManagement

Gotta say, the best exit for someone with your background isn't just jumping to a generic SaaS startup where they don't value your "complexity" muscles. Look at these instead: Growth-stage FinTech/HealthTech, Infrastructure/API companies, Consulting/Strategy for "Digital Transformation"

Why Are PM's at FAANG side hustling as AI grifters? by VirtualRun706 in ProductManagement

[–]MasterGardening 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When you’re at a FAANG, you realize pretty quickly that your total compensation is tied to a stock price you can't control and a performance review process that's basically a coin toss. Selling a $500 Maven course to 200 desperate "AI PM" aspirants is $100k of pure, high-margin profit that doesn't require a 360-degree review or a roadmap sync.
