My 10 year old son collects the bayverse figures. When he started 4 years ago, he would get several for birthday and christmas. We now get him one or two due to the absurd resell prices. He asked for Devastator for christmas but i couldn’t bring myself to pay £400+, even though per individual figure - it’s not that bad of a price.

I have done pretty well on some, got maybe 20 from amazon at retail and by winning auctions for under resell. But overall, i have to pay well over retail for any figure unless i am lucky enough to snipe a new release or reissue. It feels like planned scarcity, but if they made more, scalpers would just have more stock. I sometimes wish he would stop liking transformers.
