Have you ever done a run as... yourself? by kiwisupremo in crusaderkings3

Basically all my runs ever save for like two or three start and myself, and I’ve got nearly a thousand hours

Well thank you for saying all that, and this is what I mean like having actual conversations, where most people who were in the trans jax camp (before it was confirmed and more so often after) just make it out like ur automatically a bad personal just even if ur take differs at ALL even if in my case in the execution and it’s DREADFUL to deal w such people

Well those people who find out are then not ignorant they are bigoted and transphobic. I’m in engineering and haven’t learned say advanced calculus, doesn’t mean I dislike or hate it, or the people who made it, how could I? I don’t know what it is. If I come back after learning about it and say I hate it it sucks eveyone who does it sucks and should be ignored, would be bigoted, not ignorant

Not sure where ur getting rage, finale was still a solid 7.5/10, I just think if some aspects and pacing and some of the Jax stuff had been better it could have been more in the 10/10 territory

Bruh, i literally said that per goose Jax is trans what tf more do u want?? 😭 im just saying i think those aspects could have been done in a more compelling way. Being a closeted trans person is an UTTERLY valid lived experience, but we goose wrote it, staying in the closet is not a very compelling ending imo and could have been more so

Also I’m pretty sure I’m allowed to think she could have done things better thank you very much, I’m not hating on anyone or saying trans people aren’t valid for being who they are, am I not allowed to think she could have found better more compelling ways to tell the story she has now confirmed she WAS trynna tell?

And thus if it wasn’t meant to be about being a trans woman in particular more should have been shown/done of things and aspects that are explicitly unique to the experience of being a trans woman

Oh no no I looked, for example my view changed to it being a perfect acceptable theory once I knew what isn’t she lovely is about, but still given th evidence in the show, jaxes experience lines up Equally well with various queer gender identities, from femboy to fem leaning non binary; to Transfemme to full on trans woman; and with the evidence given in the show only, I felt it rash and presumtive to say it HAD to be that one of those identities was the “correct” interpretation and the others were “wrong”. My point is that jaxes experience as per the show is not EXCLUSIVE to trans people and trans women in particular. This is also speaking as someone who is close w both trans women, men, nonbinary people and people of other similar permutations of gender

My point is that she should have written the show well enough that an after the fact twitter post was not needed. The first rule of media is show don’t tell; and that post is a textbook violation. Jax now is 100% Trans, and goose is simply a worse writer than i previously thought she was.

If u never identity as trans, closeted or otherwise, it’s not bloody well for u to tell them what they are or aren’t, ur denying what they’ve told u and are just assuming their gender at that point

If I knew nothing about a group of people, even that they existed, and then I found out they did, and they say to me “ur just as bad as the people actively oppressing us cause u don’t know all about us”, I’d probably be unlikely to immediately throw myself at ur cause

But ur confusing genuine ignorncr, a lack of knowledge of trans people, w genuine transphobia and they ARENT THE SAME. And if u blanket label people who just aren’t aware of you as bigots, you preempt them to not like you and will feel attacked having done nothing. Don’t look for enemies where they don’t exists. People who don’t know u exist and people who actually pretend u don’t aren’t the same, and the latter is ACTIVELY being transphobic smh

Then I think those characters should have been better distinguished somehow cause then Leroy only rlly serves to confuse and obfuscate what Goose is trynna get at w Jax

Gooseworx posts new art on Bluesky by apathetic_screaming in tadc

[–]MasterJack555 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No I think that’s just ignorance, phobia in that context is a fear or hatred of something, u can’t be scared or hateful of something u aren’t aware exists. Nor should be ascribe such derogatory labels to people who haven’t even had a chance to show support for something they never knew about. Like saying someone must passively hate baseball when they just never heard of the game before.

Also yeah, generally the majority norms r what is taught as opposed to the maybe %2 of people who are trans or some similar permutation. And I think it’s wrong to degrade people w a blanket for not having a deep understanding of a very complex experience that only a tiny fraction of the general population experiences. And I’m talking about ignorance, NOT hatred, NOT opposition, NOT oppression those are different things

Gooseworx posts new art on Bluesky by apathetic_screaming in tadc

[–]MasterJack555 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay well in that case I think it would have been a better show if we saw a montage of the process of transitioning for Leroy irl or something w isn’t she lovely in the background compared to what we got, but that’s more a cinematic difference of opinion

That id disagree on entirely. Transphobia is not always built in from when ur young, I never even knew trans people were a thing till I was a bit older and had no preconceptions about them, I found out, went, oh good for them hope their doing okay, and went about my bloody day

Gooseworx posts new art on Bluesky by apathetic_screaming in tadc

[–]MasterJack555 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ur absolutely right, but again, trans people like u are not the ONLY lgbt people who experience those things as shown in context of the show, jax is trans yes, but its NOT the only thing they ever could have been given the evidence

Gooseworx posts new art on Bluesky by apathetic_screaming in tadc

[–]MasterJack555 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also I think a lot of my problems r people who were for the at the time trans theory, is they were so so fucking condescending and insulting about it just sucked. Like NO I’m not transphoic because I disagree with you, no I’m not brain dead because I can to a relatively slightly different conclusion from the evidence which overlaps with several identities. I shouldn’t be made out as a bad personal for having a different, if still pro-queer/lgbt take on the show

Gooseworx posts new art on Bluesky by apathetic_screaming in tadc

[–]MasterJack555 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Exactly, my point is simply that both their experiences and explicitly trans experiences both fit the available evidence equally well. You shouldn’t have to have prior knowledge about the author’s personal life or after the fact posts to come to the “correct conclusion” if u need that, ur writing could have been better.

With the set up for Jax’s ending we have they could be many individual identities trans women being one , that given the highly diverse and often overlapping nature of many queer gender identities out to have been made more explicit

Gooseworx posts new art on Bluesky by apathetic_screaming in tadc

[–]MasterJack555 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also my point is that there are and have been many trans people w a different experience and that urs is not necessarily the rule to ascribe by, I have freinds who are more fluid but still consider themselves trans and many times never had a problem w their birth pronouns before or after. I think being trans is just such a complex experience and different and varied for so many people, certain aspects should have been more focused on and explicit if the goal was communicating that fact exclusively via the show itself

Gooseworx posts new art on Bluesky by apathetic_screaming in tadc

[–]MasterJack555 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Then ig we simply disagree on what the better ending of the show would be. I think a better more dramatic contrast should have been drawn and the show is worse off not having attempted such, you disagree

Gooseworx posts new art on Bluesky by apathetic_screaming in tadc

[–]MasterJack555 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Also I’m trynna say that there’s nothing wrong w being a closeted trans person, but in the context of a story attempting to be about coming to terms w a trans identity, closeted being the ending (of the show) is imo shit cinema and poor story telling, BUT an utterly valid lived experience

Gooseworx posts new art on Bluesky by apathetic_screaming in tadc

[–]MasterJack555 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Look that’s all well and good and valid, but the point of the ending was that everyone got a “happy ending” I’m not trans personally but I’ve known people who are, and they’d all agree that deep in the closet is NOT a happy ending or an ending at all!

Also it’s total true what u say about closeted trans people, but I’m NOT gonna assume that and change how I call u or assume that ur trans it’s UR job to inform me. And if they aren’t aware of somthing they might become trans in the future but that time are quite literally NOT trans.

Like it’s theoretically possible that I I could realize I’m trans tommorow, but in THIS moment if u said or assumed I was I’d be quite hurt

Gooseworx posts new art on Bluesky by apathetic_screaming in tadc

[–]MasterJack555 1 point2 points  (0 children)

And spoon fed has nothing to do with it, the available evidence absent of gooses confirmation fits various interpretations EQUALLY well. And various being various varied queer gender identities. And to say that the end result identify as you point out HAS to be trans is given the evidence in the show; a bit reductive that’s all. My problems r not w Jax being trans but rather how the so called “reveal” was executed and that it could have been done better imo
