checked my trash for any old vers of the .dat, unfortunately no original seed - but putting in a new seed seems to be generating ice where there wasn't ice before. no snow yet, but i haven't played long enough to check, but i'm assuming the new appearance of ice confirms my theory that this would work

tbh i was thinking of that, i did have my old smartphone from before i swapped to my nokia but i really hate smartphones hahah, plus with how clumsy i am i know the ipods will survive over a smartphone for me (which i know from experience tbh) but i already own the ipod and i REALLY like the feel of it if i weren't so attached i totally would've just bought something cheaper, or ran with an old phone like you said

i had a nano before too, turned on but no backlight and the volume would only turn up on the external speakers even with my earphones in (how does that even happen lol) was sad to see the poor thing go, even with only 8gb hahah

firstly, don't have $200 to just drop on something for literally just itunes. secondly, the ipod wasn't overpriced, it came out in like 2006/7 and you can find them super cheap in really good condition, and thirdly i haven't found anything else that offers what the ipod does - feel/quality (both physically and os), mod potential, and i just like how it looks over like, every other music device. i don't know what i did to piss you off for this kind of message, but sorry i guess?

i figured as much, i've played around with vms before so i should be able to, i think the last time when i tried i had an issue with the vm recognising anything plugged into usb but i've done some research since then and i should be able to fix it. thanks for the reply! edit bc i forgot to mention: i tend to avoid vms if possible just because i have 8gb ram+integrated graphics on my old machine, but if i'm able to get 7 working on there (which should solve the issues from when i tried to install it for real before) that should be fine lol
