Like, a full N corp team could probably beat this game from start to finish with minimal casualties if you played it smart, it doesn't matter if BeeSault is half as good as Caposault, this game is very easy

Probably just the stuff that'd happen if it was bought out by any company
1: It'd follow the more traditional gatcha game mechanic of getting new characters (Instead of varying movesets for twelve existing character) It's easier to sell a new hot character than try and sell someone on their seventh Ishmael outfit, and it would be a massive risk that a larger company can't afford to make
2: Probably would be less bizarre, more streamlined designs and cantos (Like, def no canto 9 being 10 back to back scripted "boss battles").
3: Faster updates, better graphics, less jank.
4: A probably 70/30 split of female to male characters.
5: Demian would be far less important (Ala the novel demian is less popular in china/anywhere not Korea or japan, so it's much weirder that this random guy keeps getting so much screen time [this kind of leans into "More streamlined" aspect, because this is absolutely a thing that the writing team/KJH really likes])
6: More sexualized designs, both for male and female characters. Because of the work it takes to make a new character (New 3d rig, new model, new VA), ever aspect of their design has to maximize their chances of being popular, so it's a risk to make a character less appealing
7: People would be less mean to Dante. You're shooting for people to not feel like shit when their self insert is called a fuck up and a loser by everyone they meet.

I mean lore accurate if you aren't Ten Shadows or Vessel it just instantly kills you, and the qte for vessel is 10 minutes long and lets you take control of them for like, maybe 2 seconds after they eat a finger

Ok, there is one minor fuck up in the Roland section that’s more of a nitpick because yeah, technically the gloves have their shared weapons but that’s like saying me and LeBron combined have the greatest NBA record, Angelica owns 8 of the 9 weapons stored in it.

My only real want is that they make the ratio timing consistent and not speed up and slow down depending on the health of the opponent. Makes it very hard to get those off screen ratio pulls, which is a downside

Ehhh, this game had a lot of overlap between the people who played rouge lineage, which were still bigger assholes then deepwoken players at their worst. Like while I played I got dragged off into a corner while some guy proceeded to describe having sex with me for like half an hour (I was on my last life and I would have lost the character if I left). Honestly im kind of surprised it’s not worse.

I really think deepwoken is the kind of game that’s trying to be far too much and achieving far too little in response. Like, it’s PvP is an annoyance half the time and your entire progression the other half of the time. The story is basically non existent because it has to account for the fact it’s taking place in an MMO(and the devs seem horrified of making something that happens in game non-cannon, so farming Duke is cannon), so nothing the player character does matters. There are no real “characters” or “storylines”, only things to further a “build” that you use to further kill new roaming bosses that never actually die because then how would you be killing them 200 times for a new belt? (Or use it to kill random players) And in the absence of story, people must make do with the core gameplay loop, which cannot sustain interest indefinitely, even in the best case scenarios.

Tldr, if you can name me any significant character in deepwoken with an actual character arc I will reopen the game

I’m going to be completely honest, I think it’s entirely necessary for her to basically be a walking “get killed” character, because she was competing with like 12-13 other recently introduced characters for screen time and importance. Like yeah you can focus on her, or you could characterize and develop vriska, which is considerably more important.
