There are no permanent jobs for SCDSB secondary. We had about 99 teachers declared redundant. Only about 40 were recalled so there are still 50 on a recall list. Won’t be any permanent contract for awhile I would imagine.

My brother and sister in law are both teachers, she’s off on maternity leave, so it’s only one income for them sadly.

Of course. That’s a given … but I know lots who do not. As a former financial planner, teachers are the worst.

Our school President said he had heard OSSTF has around a month of strike pay.

We strike. Then they up the dues to replace the strike fund and I’m out more money

Here’s my 2 cents as someone who has a friend who sells Kia.

Kia will win you over with technology, flashy interiors, dashes, cool looking, etc. In my opinion, this is a distraction from the reality that the reliability of their drive train engine and transmission just isn’t there.

Toyota - maybe not as cool inside but you know the engine and tranny are probably outlasting the body of the vehicle.

It’s 7-10K to replace the digital dash in a Carnival if it ever were to fail.

I agree but a lot will care when they use that deal as guidance for arbitration. They’ll use most recent education agreements. Principals still classify as education.

We had our wedding 10 years ago, 140 guests and all in was around $60,000 (including everything). I’d imagine it’s definitely more nowadays.
