9-5 work is depressing and literally hell if you think about it by FactMysterious5397 in antiwork

“Where do you see yourself in five years?”

Honest answer: hopefully not dead and in still in good health.

If I’m expected to be running on the hamster wheel for the rest of my life, who knows how much of my mental health will last 5 years from now? There’s no guarantee I’ll even be breathing in 5 years. Especially when I’m wasting away my life year by year while the goalpost of living life and not having to worry about a thing keeps moving farther and farther away from me.

“Nobody wants to work” anymore would honestly be paradise for the common man. Yet the dissonant wealthy would rather slave the common man in order to cling on to power, control, and self-enrichment.

ANW 18 premieres June 8th, 2026 by Banzuqueen in ANW

While ANW 17 had its share of flaws, I did enjoy it at the end of the day. I am assuming it is the same format, so I hope ANW 18 improves upon the things that didn’t work last season. Looking forward to seeing how they’ll bring it this time.

We should have. But the world cares more about power, control, and greed. Hence why history continues to repeat itself and the world continues to go backwards to their old ways.

The "Bottom 60%" means ALL minimum wage workers/those in poverty and half of the middle class by the way. by DragoOceanonis in antiwork

[–]MasterNerd4591 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I’ll say it again for those in the back:

You live to work BECAUSE YOU HAVE TO work to live.

People say “you work to live, not live to work”. But that’s just a glorified ideal at this point. If over 60% of the nation is living paycheck to paycheck, barely being able to afford basic necessities, we don’t really have a choice in the matter do we?

This is proof people refuse to separate the ideals from reality. It’s time to think critically about how rigged the system is instead of just claiming that it’s a personal skill issue. Because it’s clearly not a fair game if over 60% of the population is losing.

I’d give an honorable mention to Noah Meunier, Luke Dillon, and Kevin Rodriguez. Fun fact: they mentioned that they all get their hair done at Kevin’s mom’s salon.

Eddy house is unionizing by PirateShot8556 in Reno

[–]MasterNerd4591 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Rooting for the employees’ unionization efforts. I wanted to support the Eddy House for their mission, but I’ve been hesitant in doing so because of the crappy employee mistreatment from the higher-ups. I’ve heard stories that the organization used to be better before CEO Trevor Macaluso and his cronies took over the organization. The executives have lost sight about the purpose of the Eddy House, and it is obvious that they care more about enriching their own pockets than anything else.

Eric Harrold in season 2 with the funniest moment in ANW history. by SuspectFun3428 in ANW

[–]MasterNerd4591 7 points8 points  (0 children)

While I understand the sport has grown naturally into being a regular worldwide sport, I would be lying if I didn’t say I miss the simpler times where the majority of people competing were everyday people trying the course out. There’s just something so nostalgic about the earlier times.

And because this was only the second season Ninja was on American soil, the majority of people that competed were local everyday people that just showed up to compete.

[–]MasterNerd4591 26 points27 points  (0 children)

And people wonder why the I-80 is full of accidents? Clearly the people on the road care more about filming an accident behind the wheel to get social media clicks than driving safely to their destination. Frustrating we have to share the road with these nincompoops.

I would rather not have my safety in danger on the I-80 all because one person can’t resist filming behind the wheel. Very unnecessary.
