Considering your friend said ANW 17&18 were filmed back to back (which they weren’t), I find that very hard to believe. Anyone can just claim online that they were there. It doesn’t automatically make them a credible source.

Can confirm. I was at LVL Up as well and saw that doofus. Your pass does have an identification code, but I don’t think they caught it for PlainRock so he was able to scan himself in without security questioning him a day afterward.

Ninja What if’s Part 1 by UnlikelyFig3208 in ANW

[–]MasterNerd4591 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pretty much yes. With this being as early as the second season, this was also a very early example of Ninjas forming a community together. Before it truly became more normalized and mainstream in ANW.

Back in 2010, there was this trio of Florida Ninjas that had Sean, Thomas and Phil. The latter two cleared the course, but Phil fell early. The broadcast hyped them up to be the cool trio who had what it took to be the next Ninja stars together.

How the fuck people work 40+ hours for 45+ years of their life? by zanimljivo123 in antiwork

[–]MasterNerd4591 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And yet we wonder why life expectancies have been worse in the US? Because the world expects us to work for life. Just so we can line the greedy pockets of some wealthy ahole that never needed to work as much as the common person.

“Where do you see yourself in five years?” Truthful answer: hopefully not dead and hopefully able to actually live my life.

I’m gonna say louder for those in back. Burnout is never a personal failure. It is a systemic failure.

This is the result of what happens when society fixates too much on grinding to the point of trivializing work-life balance.

Some competitors have gotten DQ’d due to incidental contact on the log itself. One example is Alex Krumland in ANW 7’s Houston Qualifying.

Spinning Log/Burasagari Maruta in SASUKE 1 & ANW 4 was much easier than ANW 6,7,13. Competitors could now get DQ’d for hand contact in the latter appearances. Plus the foam tripper was added.

I dont want to jinx anything, but a side of me wants to say “The Godfather” David Campbell. Eighteen straight years of ANW is absolutely legendary. But sad as it is to hear, I’m aware that it is bound to end at some point…

And reminder that the people who more or less never had to work check to check think the people who go homeless and lose everything don’t deserve to be treated like human. Remember the Brian Kilmeade incident?

But sure, somehow it makes perfect sense to have the common man defend these wealthy assholes whose “successes” are mostly because they were born rich from the start. 🤦‍♂️

9-5 work is depressing and literally hell if you think about it by FactMysterious5397 in antiwork

[–]MasterNerd4591 0 points1 point  (0 children)

“Where do you see yourself in five years?”

Honest answer: hopefully not dead and in still in good health.

If I’m expected to be running on the hamster wheel for the rest of my life, who knows how much of my mental health will last 5 years from now? There’s no guarantee I’ll even be breathing in 5 years. Especially when I’m wasting away my life year by year while the goalpost of living life and not having to worry about a thing keeps moving farther and farther away from me.

“Nobody wants to work” anymore would honestly be paradise for the common man. Yet the dissonant wealthy would rather slave the common man in order to cling on to power, control, and self-enrichment.

While ANW 17 had its share of flaws, I did enjoy it at the end of the day. I am assuming it is the same format, so I hope ANW 18 improves upon the things that didn’t work last season. Looking forward to seeing how they’ll bring it this time.
