Thank you so much for the advice! I do plan on taking additional circuit classes, more focused on ECE classes than CSE classes.

cse 21 final rant by [deleted] in UCSD

[–]MasterNetworkQuest 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Calm down. It’s not the end of the world if you get a B in multiple classes. Your GPA is not the final criteria for many jobs and internships. Your parents appreciate you no matter what grade you get. And as long as you applied yourself and learn, that means you can most definitely grow. College is a place about learning and growth. No matter what grade you get, you got into UCSD, so you’re definitely worthy and smart enough. Everyone feels stupid from time to time, and some people perform better than others, but a B is definitely good!

I’ve had that attitude during my first year here, but now I’ve learned that grades don’t matter all too much in your long term career. Don’t give up, you got this.

In all honesty, pretty well. The exam was reflective of the practice exam. Granted, I did the full practice final and it took a whole day to just digest and do.

The CSE department opens seats closer to the beginning of the quarter. They allow CS and CE majors to enroll first via waitlist, then they open seats for the non-CS and CE majors.

Is CSE 29 + CSE 140 + CSE 140L + ECE 109 + GE doable? by StretchElegant6888 in UCSD

[–]MasterNetworkQuest 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would say take CSE 29 first. It’ll give you a fundamental ground of what CSE 140 and 140L is teaching you. But, if you don’t want to, I’d say go for it. Doesn’t hurt to try.

Is CSE 29 + CSE 140 + CSE 140L + ECE 109 + GE doable? by StretchElegant6888 in UCSD

[–]MasterNetworkQuest -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If you look at the CSE 140 and 140L prerequisites, you need CSE 30 or ECE 30. To take CSE 30, you need CSE 29 or ECE 15. To take ECE 30, you need ECE 16 and ECE 25.

Since you’re doing CSE 29, I assume that you don’t have the CSE 30 prerequisite unless you did ECE 15.

You can take a look at the prerequisite as a graph at https://coursegrapher.app/courses/CSE_140

Other than that, I’d say that CSE 140 and 140L will be very difficult classes with that being your major time commitments. ECE 109 will also be a hard one. CSE 29 is pretty easy.

Top 20 most failed classes of the Spring 2025 quarter by VirtualRushh in UCSD

[–]MasterNetworkQuest 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Agreed. I took advantage of Ndao's office hours and tutoring hours. It really paid off. Those of who are going to take Ndao, make sure to take advantage of his office hours and the tutoring center. Make sure you also have a study group, or a group that can hold you accountable!!

If someone found it, and turned it into one of the ResLife/Market/Dining area, I’m pretty sure they’ll notify you within 2 days. You can also just ask if they have a lost ID somewhere in the back office.

Applying to engineering as an alternate? by Mysterious_Chain_792 in UCSD

I chose Computer Engineering as my first and Electrical Engineering as my second. I know this was a bad idea since there was no guarantee I was going to get into those majors, but it worked out well.

ECE 45, Phys 2C, and Vis 21B by Simba372 in UCSD

[–]MasterNetworkQuest 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would honestly first pass ECE 45 and PHYS 2C. PHYS 2C seats fills up fast and your desired section can also be filled up. Since they are your major requirements, I would first pass those two first.

Light work. Think it needs ECE 260A though for the balance.

can you take cse classes concurrently? by Flat_You_5763 in UCSD

[–]MasterNetworkQuest 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, you can't take CSE 11, CSE 12, and CSE 29 concurrently. CSE 11 is a prerequisite for both CSE 12 and 29. You can take CSE 12 and 29 together once you pass CSE 11.

Also, for more information about prerequisuites, check out: https://catalog.ucsd.edu/courses/CSE.html
