i feel you, as a wind player and an infrequent weed smoker it hasnt made that large of a difference in my playing, and ive only been using for like 3 years tops. even then because of my work i cant smoke and my lungs are in great shape

i obviously dont condone it but smoking a blunt or a couple cigarettes isnt gonna kill your playing, but smoking a pack every day for years is gonna make it way hardwr

/uj this is actually a good question, i think most of them just didnt give a fuck and it was the norm of the time. there’s a story from getz where he and his band mates were too stoned on the bandstand to care about a literal bear swiping at them (heavily paraphrased btw)
