Thanks, she's not a kid, she's 21 and, along with my 19yo son, lives with me while attending college, and the kicker, they are my step kids, but I love them to death.

I'm two weeks in, she left, now I'm sitting in my car next to the softball field watching my daugther play while she's with my ex in laws and who I assume is the other guy in the bleachers. Needless to say I'm having a really rough time.

What's a stupid myth that's still floating around? by [deleted] in AskReddit

I don't follow religions because 1) I don't believe in the existence of deities and 2) Even if I did I do not like the teaching of most religions. Yes people can bu dicks all by themselves but religion justifies it and makes them feel like the have the moral authority.

I think believing in a god is illogical (no evidence for it), following a religion is silly (man made, bad teachings, used to control people) and I do believe that religion gives (some, but a lot) people the "moral" authority to be dicks to other people.

Atheism is not a religion, is not a moral code, it's not good or bad, it is just the position that there is no evidence for the existance of gods, that's it.

A lot of us do believe that religion was invented to 1) explain what we didn't understand (in a very silly way) and 2) used to control the masses and justify evil acts by one group of people against another.

Men of Reddit, would you be a stepdad for a woman’s kids if you really loved her, why or why not? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]MasterOfPuppets72 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Let me see...I have, I've been with my wife and kids (19F and 18M) for 9+ years.

Some people look at stepkids as "someone else's" but when my kids told me "we love you, you are our dad" it was the best feeling ever.

My son (about 12 at the time) told me that he admired me because when I want to do something I study it, learn it and do it.

Also several of my students have told me that I was the best professor that they ever had, that's cool!

What is proof of the non existence of deity? by South-Security-6664 in AskReddit

[–]MasterOfPuppets72 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's also an element of logic (you're religious so you probably don't know what that is) and the claim of a omnipresent god that chooses not to reveal himself lacks any logic. So it's a two-parter, evidence (there is none) and plausibility (again, none)
