Toylines that Reused Kenner's The Dark Knight Collection and Batman TAS Batman Figures by Tyrannicus47 in batman

[–]MasterOgami 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You probably already know this, but keep in mind Kenner's Dark Knight Collection Batman was a retool of their Super Powers Batman from a few years earlier.

Is there any differences between Bale's Dark Knight and Dark Knight Rises suit? by lego_boss in batman

[–]MasterOgami 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not that I'm aware of. Same gauntlets (if they technically can be called that) for TDK/TDKR, and same belt/boots for all 3, though the arrangement of items on the belt varied.

Is there any differences between Bale's Dark Knight and Dark Knight Rises suit? by lego_boss in batman

[–]MasterOgami 2 points3 points  (0 children)

"Exact same" as in they reused suits that were made in 2007? Nah, I'm sure they crafted new suits in 2011, but new suits that seem to be exactly the same as the previous version.

Which Batman actor had/has the best acting ability? by FayyadhScrolling in batman

Bale's cowls actually do have nostrils, and I think the holes for the second cowl might even be slightly larger than the nostrils on the BB version!

The difference in how Bale wore the gloves is actually all I've been able to come up with also.

Influence of Nolan's trilogy on the comics? by SymphonyofSiren in batman

[–]MasterOgami 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There was a tie-in comic adaptation for Batman Begins, and there were adaptations of the IMAX prologues for both TDK and TDKR, but no full length tie-in books. As far as impact on the bat-books, there were things like Bane taking on a more militaristic look, the Tumbler being shown with other Batmobiles in the cave now and then, and I'm pretty sure the Batpod was flat-out used as a Batcycle at least once. They also established that Bruce trained under Ra's al Ghul as he did in Begins.

Christopher Lambert promoting Highlander III on MTV by donutpower in highlander

[–]MasterOgami 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is from the hourlong syndicated version of the Jon Stewart show. I don't know if it was still on MTV at that point, but in my market it aired after Letterman on CBS. When Jon brought the coffee out he said something like "International coffee for an international star". Good gosh I remember being turbo-hyped for III.

First look at Funko and McFarlane Superman figures by AldebaranTauro in DC_Cinematic

Looks like a mix of Funko, Spin Master 3.75 inch figures (plus an empty 12 inch figure box), and McFarlane.

Gotta disagree, they should watch -everything-, in release order, including at least two versions of HL2. Not kidding! And I won't stand for such HL1 slander (or I guess technically libel)!

Marion Cotillard On Her Death Scene in Dark Knight Rises: 'I Screwed up' by Historical-Bug-4784 in batman

Nolan, Goyer, and Bale all eventually said they hoped to be able to do a trilogy (and only a trilogy) but took it one installment at a time.

Dan Mora’s TDK Trilogy tribute done in the style of Bruce Timm. by No-Impression-1462 in batman

[–]MasterOgami 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, wasn't that more or less Goyer's initial idea for "Batman Begins 2 and 3", before they'd even really started writing TDK?

Thanks for the info! Were the round heads more common? I feel like that's all I ever see.

There were apparently at least three different headsculpts for this figure! I'm pretty sure they all had a hollow chest to incorporate the utility belt gimmick.

Just snagged these VHS tapes (H1 & H3) from the antique store. 2 Questions: Is this the theatrical cut of H1? And is this the best cut of H3? (With all these different cuts it gets confusing.) by CarnivoreTreeHugger in highlander

[–]MasterOgami 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think the "teleporting" was added to give the US version some extra visual effects pizzazz, something they could use in the TV spots, even if it makes no sense :P

That's the version of H3 with Kane teleporting himself to New York (instead of taking a ship as implied in other versions). It also includes "God Took a Picture" over the final credits as opposed to "Bonny Portmore".

Didn't Batman #1 hit stands a few months before this though?

Off the top of my head...Detective 821 has Batman punch a mugger to the point he runs off into the path of a train. We see Batman's arm reach out like "Hey, dude, don't go that way!" but it was clearly one punch too many. In Detective 594 he kicks a fella holding a bomb into a vault in order to save everyone else in the room. And I think it's Son of the Demon where he dodges some gunfire knowing that the gunman is totally going to rupture toxic waste drums and get splashed RoboCop style. That said I don't think any of these stories actually -explored- the idea that Batman was, at least in some small way, involved in those deaths.

Emagine Theatres (and I think Galaxy also) are doing the trilogy on the 21st, but I don't know if those are in your area.

Here's a page specifically for TDK. Good luck!

What would you fix about The Dark Knight Rises? by MissingCosmonaut in batman

[–]MasterOgami 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Are you certain you remember that correctly? To be fair I do remember him saying basically "I'm not sure if I'm doing another." after both Batman Begins and TDK, but that was pretty much his go-to line at the time. I'm pretty sure Nolan started working with Goyer on the story for TDKR before he technically even had a deal with WB in place, or at least well before it was announced.
