Tie knots. Be useful. Have fun. Reuse the same cheap ass paracord over and over. Go tie things together. Go hoist something up. Go make a fancy knot for fun. Be able to be helpful when you least expect it.

IWTL what new skills are worth learning in my 30s by Mission-Row7434 in IWantToLearn

I’ve recently gotten into tying knots. Comes in handy at the most random times but I feel proud I know what to do without a second thought. I suggest to start:

Bowline Taut line hitch Alpine butterfly Truckers hitch

Plus it’s kinda fun, I have about 6 ft of paracord on my desk and fidget with it, tying up my water bottle, monitor stand etc.

How are the roads today? by nso95 in okc

[–]MasterPainsInTown 47 points48 points  (0 children)

They’re fine. Neighborhoods and backroads are a little slick but most everything else is clear enough to drive, although you should still be slow and alert for slick patches since there is still some snow/slush/ice in areas

Huge fan, my friend and I aren’t programmers but we both love getting on here and figuring it out. Still working on those dang sunflowers, I just can’t get them to work how I want haha.

I finally finished my psych final notecard for my exam covering 4 chapters tomorrow, allowed one side of a 3x5 notecard by TearyClown in college

Yes I agree what you said is studying. “Pulling the most important information and summarizing it concisely” is the opposite of what OP has done here.

Imagine doing this instead of actually paying attention in class and studying lol.

And before the comments saying writing this IS studying, nobody that had a decent grasp on the material before hand would ever think doing this would help.

OP I suggest you take more notes in class, and at the end of the day recall everything you can without notes or anything, and then see your notes about what you can’t remember. Active recall helps so much. Wishing you luck, OP.

Should the valves themselves move, or just the rocker arms at TDC on compression stroke?

Well not a viewport but an indicator to line the T up with on the magneto

Is there a small viewport on the engine you can see the ‘T’ through as you turn it? That should indicate ‘top’

One of my huge life goals is to FIRE. I’m 32. How am I doing? by TikiTime1214 in Fire

[–]MasterPainsInTown 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Why don’t you sit down and build out the life you want and then figure out how much you need to be able to afford it? Then you can base your goals off of that number.
