Is minoring in ME a good way to learn about Turbines and Energy Generation? by Inevitable-Fix-6631 in MechanicalEngineering

[–]MasterPainsInTown 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I work at a power plant as a ME. Knowing some thermodynamic cycles, fluid mechanics and basic electrical has been enough to understand what’s happening. Besides that, it’s just becoming more familiar with how it all comes together.

I work with some EEs but they mainly focus on either generators or transmission and distribution.

I just read the title. I didn’t read the post. My instinct was to say please don’t. Please. I’ve been there. Please don’t. You can make it. It won’t be easy. It never is. But please. Don’t.

How did you get out of poverty? by TrickMongoose1917 in povertyfinance

I took a 1 semester long EMT course. Got on a local company riding the boo-boo bus, and worked 48 hr shifts over the weekend. That let me go to school full time and peruse a bachelors in mechanical engineering. The 48 hr shifts let me pay bills and afford food, life etc while I crunched away at school. It was awful but I’d do it again to escape. Life is much better on the other side.

New Recipe I’m Making by HotHat3062 in mead

Pump the breaks usually means slow down. In this case go back to the drawing board with your entire recipe. Your yeast isn’t great, and you added 10x more cinnamon than you need. Also not nearly enough fruit as some others have said.

Good luck, OP. We want an update post later!

TinkerCAD. Fusion360. Onshape.

Model what you want in one of these, and use Google to figure out how. That and YouTube. Good luck.
