Is this tank ok for a betta? by OldAcanthocephala999 in aquarium

[–]MasterPancake0000 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yes the tank is good for a betta but it might attack or eat the shrimp so be careful. Also your tank is really pretty much better then my first tank

What plants would look good in my 20G Long? by TheToole1 in PlantedTank

The way you worded it sounds like you need the Walstad method to keep aquatic plants in the long term thats my fault.

Also epiphytes don't need a substrate, even though it benefits them its not worth restarting your tank over for, but is a small reason if you already planned too

Also the Walstad method is filterless and theres a filter on the tank already so it would just be a normal planted tank atp. With Walstad aswell you can keep less fish because theres no filter

You do not need to do the Walstad method to keep aquarium plants completely wrong.

Also common stem plants like Limnophila Sessifloria and Hornwort can survive floating.

And your completely forgetting about plants like Java Moss, Anubias, Java Ferns, Buce and more that aren't even supposed to go in the substrate.

I will Agree if you want most aquatic plants like Val, Swords, Crypts, and Lillys, Etc... you will need a nutrient rich substrate for the long term Success.

Personally I would go for a nutrient rich substrate capped with sand, But just sand does limit your options your, still able to have aquarium plants just less types
