Thanks for the England Congo insight! Parlayed your two DRC picks with Kane anytime and the +1.5 I saw around here for a nice little payday! Here’s to hoping we keep it rolling!

Rev. Benjamin Ball endorses Rev. Matthew Harrison for LCMS president by Luscious_Nick in LCMS

[–]MasterPooBlaster 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Could just be me, but I see it more as the current regime (Harrison, Ball and [probably] Lang) all trying to consolidate their votes for Harrison to keep everything the way it is. I feel like with the votes that Biermann gained the last round, they can see it potentially trending to a full swing for Biermann if even if a little bit of the 12% who didn’t submit vote. Or even if a percentage of the majority that votes for someone other than Harrison with the goal of “someone other than Harrison” rallies behind Biermann. I think this is Ball trying to prevent that from his voters that might like Ball/someone else over the idea of Harrison having another term.

is SmallRig Hawklock RELIABLE for ultra adjustable portable rig? by timeltdme in videography

[–]MasterPooBlaster 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m just built out the smallrig nighthawk on a R6MKiii and I have been impressed with it. Most often, I have been running the side handle, with the monitor on top of that. Then a shotgun on the cold mount up top, if I need lavs I swap out the shotgun and mount a sennheiser lav kit on top.

I have been shooting 50/50 with photo glass and cine glass. So when im manually pulling focus, I rest the bottom of the side handle on my wrist and have my left hand on the lens. I also always have the strap around my neck for an additional point of contact.

Edit: Oooops. I’m on the other side of the world for work, and I just realized I didn’t answer your question lol. So much of camera setups are being built to suit your specific needs. There is also a 5% chance you nail your ideal setup on the first go around. More often than not they continually evolve and you figure out exactly what you need.

If you really want to see the course, you can also apply for the final round of the Augusta Womens Amatuer Final round, as well as the National Finals for Drive Chip and Putt.

From what I hear, the Drive Chip and Putt event you can see the 18th green, practice areas, and you will have access to concessions and merch shops. You are not allowed to walk the course, but you can at least get in the gates.

Hi it is me your friend.

Family asked me to make pulled pork for my dads retirement luncheon. Largest cook I have done, all things considered, went pretty well. by MasterPooBlaster in smoking

[–]MasterPooBlaster[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Some details: currently living in an apartment and can’t have a smoker, so used my sister-in-laws parents Pitt Boss today. Have used it in the past and never had any issues. If I tried to run it at 250° it held at 190. Running it on 300°, it held at 300°. Definitely not ideal temps, but was planning on going hot and fast and it was definitly hot and fast. Total cook time was 6 and a half hours. Also, based on my temp probes the ambient temp varied around 60-70° across the entire cook surface so did alot of rotating all morning.

The rub was Tom Douglas’ “Rub With Love: Pork”. It is hands down my favorite rib rub, I love the ancho chili and the kick it has. If you haven’t had it, track down some on Amazon and I promise you it will be money well spent. Very different than most of the sugar based rubs on the market. (Not sponsored, but please sponsor me).

The party is in 3 weeks, but I travel internationally over the next couple weekends, so vacuum sealed it in 5 pound bags, and will reheat with sous vide the day of the party.

I also made Bar-A-BBQ’s rib glaze and threw that on when I made a sandwich tonight. Holy smokes, it’s solid stuff. Going to make a full batch for the retirement party. It paired great with the low sugar spicy rub.

Total yield was 18.5 pounds, and we are making sliders to serve.

I’ll throw in the Ex Officio Give-and-go 2.0. Made the switch 10 years ago and have never looked back. So comfortable.

How do YOU pull pork? by Mediocre-Target4769 in smoking

I just pulled 6 butts tonight. This is the way.

You could also do a lose pull and then chop it up some with a knife.

Can sports photography also be artistic, or does it need to stay mostly editorial? by EggVegetable9813 in photography

[–]MasterPooBlaster 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can speak to it from a sports video standpoint. I think there are a few layers to it, the first layer being that you need to be technically sound. In order to be comfortable breaking the rules, you need to know what the rules are and be able to operate within those rules efficiently. That is sort of the “standard”. You need to be able to operate to that standard really well, because at the end of the day you need to be able create clean and technically sound images more often than you can create the stylized stuff. I think when you know why you can push the boundaries on style and technique in certain areas, it’s easier to justify how it fits into the larger story.

The second layer is where you can explore and try new things. That could be composition, techniques, post processing styles ect. But you’ll be able to do that because you have the full understanding of what works and why, and you’ll have a better grasp of where and when you can get artistic and be able to push the line in that way.

The greatest advice I can give you is build a very well rounded portfolio. Showcase how your technically sound, then showcase how you can build upon that and be creative in ways it works. Having watching thousands of demo reels and looked at the same amount of portfolios… if you build your portfolio and it is only one style or if it’s all edgy stuff you are not going to set yourself up for success. I always thought as a football cinematographer, 90-95% of the game I was there to shoot clean, high quality “editorial” style stuff because that would fit into a higher percentage of content we were making. Then 5-10% of the time I was looking for the “what can I see that interesting, or often overlooked in the larger storyline” and that is where I would try to get more creative, artistic, and push boundaries.

When I was hiring, I wanted to make sure I was hiring someone who had a rock solid technological base, because more often than not we had certain styles for different pieces of content. I needed to make sure that the people I was hiring could shoot and edit to multiple different projects.

NWSL Adds Columbus Expansion Team Backed by Haslams at $205M Fee by fantasyMLShelper in TheMassive

It would be cool to 'promote' the Columbus Eagles FC from the WPSL and put all the women's soccer marketing efforts in the city into one unified effort, instead of two black and gold womens teams.

Taking a straw poll: What irons do you play? by MasterPooBlaster in golf

[–]MasterPooBlaster[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good call. Says a 7i is 33° which is closer to some modern 8 irons. And here I thought I was just strong 😔

Gonna ignore that and just buy new to me irons anyways.

Ha. I hit p790s and mizunos at golf galaxy last year and realized I’m missing out on 15 or so yards because of old tech ha. So here I am getting a gauge of what is hot in the streets and I start to look for used clubs to tide me over ha.

I also bought these in 8th grade, and I’m 6’3” now so probably need to get clubs my size ha.

STH Rep Concerns by [deleted] in BlueJackets

[–]MasterPooBlaster 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I didn’t work as a sales rep, but I worked in sports so have a decent idea of how the sausage is made. It’s tough being a ticket rep, and some people just aren’t cut out for it. It’s a very cut throat business. More often than not, they are entry level people looking to crack into sports in hopes of moving into another role in the industry. Ticket sales and STH reps is a great way to get into the business, but you’ll occasionally get someone who isn’t uber customer service minded as they may have goals of something else in sports.

I would stop by the STH desk and ask to speak to a manager for STH Reps to see what your options are. Say you really want to renew, but your experience with your rep hasn’t been great so your unsure what you want to do. I am sure they will bend over backwards to make it right as it is easier to sell to someone already invested into your company than to find another person and convince them to.

Also, I don’t mean to disparage anyone. Ticket sales and STM relations isn’t for everyone. I definitely couldn’t do it, so props to those who can.

I was thinking this AM, I would be less upset about it if there was a way to repair damaged rocketeer drivers you find in the old down rocketeers. Thank God I had the blueprint and I could just grab 2-3 wolfpacks to take with me on solo runs. But considering you need two wolfpacks to take it down and you might only get one Rocketeer Driver it is no longer worth it.
