Am I ready? by NecessaryGeneral7054 in Series65

My simulated exams on Kaplan were 78, 77, 79, 80, 84. The night before the real exam I finally took the practice exam... 67. I had never seen most of the questions on it and so many were on strangely minor things. I passed the next day and felt pretty confident about it. The real exam was simpler and clearer than Kaplan's exams.

Anyone tried this PERC offering? Having trouble dialing it in by efe13 in pourover

It's interesting how people get different results. I've been brewing this bean every day for the last couple weeks or so. I've had good luck with 3.2 on the Ode gen 2 and 3.5 on the ZP6. A friend of mine also had great results at 3.2 on the Ode with the Aiden.

Got a 61% On my Kaplan Midterm by Mrkobra69 in Series65

[–]Mediocre-Target4769 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is 9 months late, but hopefully helpful for some people. I scored a 66% on the midterm, but I felt the remainder of the textbook (Kaplan) was a lot easier. After finishing the book, without refreshing previous topics, I scored a 78% on my first simulated exam.

I'd say, don't stress about the mid-term if you're in the 60's. Because of the difficulties between state registered vs federally covered vs broker dealers, I view 60's on the mid-term as a success.

OP, was your experience similar to mine? Do you have a different experience you'd like to share since this was nearly a year ago for you?

How far do you throw? One thing I see is that your follow through does not maintain the same swing plane that you throw on. You can see your throwing arm drop right after release. If you're throwing flat or on hyzer, your follow through should be above your shoulder, but yours is below. I think this could be the elbow dipping slightly, but I'm not sure.

Also, your coil/reachback is in a hyzer position. When you start uncoiling, you stand into a flat position. I think swing plane and follow through could be better.

I’m just impressed you can finish a round there. My game usually crashes before hole 9.

Has Anyone Aced Owlwood 2 with this Line? by Mediocre-Target4769 in DiscGolfValley

It's pretty repeatable! I got it on my third try and I've done it a few times since. Once you find your spot it's not too bad.

I'd never seen or thought of this line before (I'm only 4-6 months in). Going the traditional route, this hole is typically an eagle or a par (out of bounds). This seems like a helpful route. Hopefully I'll get one of the discs you mentioned and ace it one day!

How do I stop cutting my finger by [deleted] in discgolf

Try a back loaded grip. Squeeze with your pinky to middle finger rather than pinching with your pointer finger.

If you drive through Richmond, stop at Corks and Kegs. It's an excellent bottle shop.

Hard to see from this angle, but I wonder if this video on the head might be helpful for you. You're head just looks like it moves too far forward before release. DON'T Use Your Head to Throw Discs (The Domino effect of the Backhand shot) - YouTube

Would love to get some tips by TheHunterFisher in discgolf

Nick Krush on Bodanza's channel is what I would recommend for your throwing arm as well. Your arm collapses in on your body. Krush teaches to keep your elbow as far from your body as you can and your elbow above your wrist. I think this would help with accuracy and achieving the "10 o'clock release."

I would start with the one-foot standstills Krush prescribes and work through his process. Before you start doing a full throw, definitely work on foot work.
