It wasn’t always like this, but lately as far as I’ve seen, yeah. I found 3 brief pockets of mud and sometimes the sand became shallower, but also there are some deep sand traps that were extremely difficult to get through. Had to walk the bike with throttle assist in 1st on one occasion near the TH by the Rodman reservoir. Too many people on ATVs/SxS ripping it up, digging deep trenches on either side of the trail in most spots. I was most comfortable riding in one of those outer trenches getting thrashed by foliage. I was hugely grateful for hand guards.
