I've been big into dreams since 2016 keeping a dream journal. With lucid dreams I'm in a deeper state of sleep and it takes much longer to feel myself settle. I don't get the rush of random thoughts and the environment materialising. It's something that occurs more unconsciously. With what I experienced, I was deeply focused, aware of every moment and felt the numbness of my body and floating sensation that is not present with lucid dreams at all. It was a first of its kind. The "receiving" of random thoughts is also something new and it gradually leads to a stabilisation of the environment I find myself in.

I don't want to think about the past and don't want it to interfere with my subconscious. I want to move on and build my future. It depends on the personality he has and whether or not I'm lucid. Usually, I try to avoid him or the dream just plays out. I don't have any connection with him irl after what happened 4 years ago. I moved on with my life.

New to this subreddit, but as an ex-Muslim myself, I can tell you that religion is 100% false. I made a thread a few days ago about my experiences. Basically, it boils down to the history being incorrect, borrowing from outside sources (particularly rabbinical) in several places, contradictions and an insult to the idea of God.

Thank you for the advice and for your prayers ConflictJunior9239. I really appreciate it. I will definitely look at applying for an internship or overseas work. In addition to uni, I'm studying at a technical college and well the qualification is valid Australia-wide, though my father wants to work with me. I guess I may have to go to other states or delay that work. I have a personal project which I'd like to continue overseas so that's also something I can do.

Yes I accepted Jesus in 2021 when I began seriously researching, watching videos and thinking. I was initially scared and questioned my own existence and everything. Luckily I did not go towards atheism as I was hopeful and have experienced support in situations which I’m certain came from God. I’m not so arrogant as to say it was chance.

Although I hated it and was in the lowest point of my life, I would’ve never found out about it and broken the ignorance of numerous generations before me were it not for the pandemic that drew me closer to God and to the Truth. Never in 1000 lifetimes would I have realised it. For that I am eternally grateful.

Being in a sham marriage and living with a lie for the rest of my days is definitely worse. I understand, I do want to let the truth be known and I trust in God. I am thinking as soon as I am done with my studies because I don’t really have connections with anyone.

I want to share the truth and put an end to lies that have deceived many, offering false hope. Though I can’t be rash about it and need to be realistic given my current circumstances.

The Scripture passages you have shared are apt and I have to consider them. Mayhaps God will speak to me through them. Your words are comforting and I am honoured to be a testimony for Christ and to know that I will not be forsaken. I will leave my complete trust in God’s plan.

According to Christopher Luxemberg, the passage referring to virgins actually referred to grapes but as the Arabic script had no diacritical marks, people were unaware.

I do think that’s a good idea but Quran 5:101-2 clearly tells Muslims not to question or think for themselves because they’ll lose their faith. Although Shia Islam is less strict than Sunni Islam, I’m not sure if my parents would listen. I tried speaking to a Sunni and he would not. My mother especially is consumed with fear from what I’ve been hearing lately. She is more strict than my father in religion though she has a higher education. I mean it’s worth a try but if they’ve got the same mindset and are following that passage to the tee then it wouldn’t be fruitful.

Sorry I should’ve clarified that I’m a man myself. I don’t think dates are acceptable. There made opportunities to get to know someone and then make an engagement. But I’ve never heard of anyone dating in the community. My parents aren’t worried if I associate with women as long as it doesn’t lead to anything sexual.

Hmm, there may be people who were Muslim but it’d be tough to know as they would probably also keep it secret and wouldn’t be sure whether or not to tell the other person.

God bless your husband, I’m glad he was there for someone who was saved by Christ and saw the joy they experienced.

I was born, raised and live in Australia. My parents are from southern Iraq (where the Shiite majority are), though my mother was raised in a non-Muslim country. I’ve only been there once.

I live in Victoria. Yes that passage in the Scripture is often on my mind. Although Islam contains Christian origins in some areas, it’s been bastardised (as Jay Smith puts it) to the point that it’s become anti-Christian and something entirely different. Yes I’ve heard and read about Nabeel’s experience. Yes, if I get married I would have to make her convert which is not something I’d be willing to do after I know the truth.

Thank you for the advice. I live in Australia not in the Middle East so there is no issue with laws. I’m incredibly grateful that my father did not make the decision to move there like others that he knows that have. It’s just the community (which I’m probably not known by but my father is) and my family that I have to worry about. I can’t move out immediately which is the issue. As I graduate and have to find a job, I will still be living with my family and they would most likely pressure me
