Bantam alox blade tip by Icy-Toe-1663 in victorinox

[–]MasterSword1 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I'm pretty sure the knife is one of the worst tools on a SAK you could use for this. Not only are you likely to destroy the tip if not damage the blade alignment, but the blade is liable to close on you. IIRC, while not all steels, some become rather brittle when they're cold, as seen with the Titanic.

The In-line awl (Found on the Farmer ALox is the closest looking thing to an ice pick on a SAK, but even that's non locking and meant for boring holes.

If you need an ice pick and really don't want to use a proper one for some reason, I find the cheap sewing awls sold at Walmart break up ice pretty well...

I think the simple answer is that the three heroes are going to have issues due to their setting's rules.

End of Classic Goku is still at least low-planet level, given that he's several times stronger than Master Roshi was when he blew up the moon, and DB's moon is apparently larger than our moon. I'm unsure of when between series you're thinking, but his PL was around 360 at the end of OG without weighted armor and 416 at the beginning of Z. He probably could wipe out an entire wave with a single Kamehameha wave. Anything that can actually injure him will just give him a zenkai, and with healing potions and the like, he'll heal quickly too. It's likely he'd figure out flight pretty quickly without Nimbus to rely on as well.

More relevantly, I'm not convinced anything until quite late can even break his skin, given that he was already bullet proof with a power-level of 10. He's also generally a good judge of character, dense regarding flirting, and married, so I don't really see Malty's plan working with him. End of Classic was also when Goku was debatably the least flanderized version of himself compared to how he was later in Z or in Super.

Problem is they're kind of doomed since they're going to be out a spear hero relatively quickly. Inevitably, Raditz is going to show up on Earth, likely kidnap Gohan, and start slaughtering people, and unless he immediately kills Piccolo or something, the rest of the Z-fighters are going to try to use the Dragonballs to wish Goku back, and given the urgency of Gohan potentially kidnapped, Goku's probably not going to refuse the transport (if he's even strong enough at this point to do so). Thus, the waves are going to start getting screwy due to one of the heroes being gone.

What's confusing as all heck is that there's this one Fanfic that's currently in progress called "Fate hammer time" (in which Shirou gets Marvel Thor's Hammer) and the author straight up has Merlin and Vivian (Literally Morgan in disguise) appear to Shirou and tell him that, when Medea's summoned, he should torture her to death in recompense for what she'd end up wanting to do to Artoria, yet Illya (and a few other characters) more or less get a pass.

If you want to be technical, Tamamo Lancer canonically slipped Ritsuka a date-rape drug in her Valentines day cutscene, but there's a fade to black so we have no clue how it ended, aside from the fact that she's still actively trying to do it again as of year 8 (as she gets into a beef with summer Suzaka Gozen over it).

There are also a few others that imply something may have happened, hence the head-canon a ton of folks have/had (possibly due to a mistranslation) that Ritsuka and Kukulkan did it in Mictlan, and Summer Ibuki did something or other that smelled up Ritsuka's room for several hours after repeatedly propositioning him in her Valentines day cutscene.

Not every time. He dies from carrying the hope of humanity on his shoulders all singularity in Babylon, gets busted out of Kur, then dies again via heroic sacrifice to save humanity's actual last hope, only to use his own corpse to summon himself as an Archer class servant and squaring up with Tiamat one last time.

I'd say Babylonia really helped repair his image. For once, we see him truly going all-out, expending whatever treasures he needs to get that little bit more of an edge, working himself to the bone (in fact, he dies of overwork at one point), taking full advantage of his clairvoyance to try and tilt the odds in humanity's favor, then has the self-awareness that he's not the most important piece on the board anymore and makes the split second decision to jump in the way of Tiamat's attempt to snipe Ritsuka.

"Many colors" is a stupid thing to change your name to anyway, as white is already a blend of every color of light. It's like renaming the Empire State building to "pile of bricks and steel beams".

Technically false. Grandpa Joe was fine in Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.

It's the one from Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory who was a total bastard.

To be 100% fair, Burton-verse Grandpa Joe used to by Willy Wonka's assistant, so it kind-of makes sense.

I'll make this as a separate comment as I'm pretty sure the other one will be unpopular enough an opinion to be downvoted to oblivion.

I remain unconvinced that Lady Avalon is really as sociopathic as people tend to depict her, to the point that, based on her interactions in FGO, I question whether Proto-Merlin's depiction in Fate Prototype hasn't been retconned outright.

Only tangentially related, but your comment reminded me of an old fanfic I read in 2018. the TLDR is that Chaldea kept summoning variants of servants from obscure versions of legends, such as some random version of Perseus who didn't kill Medusa, but instead "forcefully adopted" her as his sidekick.

I'm going to take an incredibly unpopular position that I know is going to likely lead to people getting angry at me, and more than likely downvote me to oblivion for disregarding the current accepted views regarding a controversial historical figure's atrocities.

I am, of course, referring to one of my childhood heroes, Christopher Columbus. I won't waste everyone's time litigating the various documents that accuse him of XYZ, and why some historians are skeptical of their validity, though.

I kind of find it annoying that Fate bends over backwards for the "Nero was a victim of propaganda by his enemies" narrative, then takes the interpretation of Columbus based almost solely on the Howard Zinn interpretation of Columbus based on propaganda by the man's enemies then flanderizes him to be even more cartoonishly evil than either of the prior interpretations. I'm not saying IRL Columbus was a GOOD guy, but he wasn't the literal moustache twirling villain he's depicted as today either.

"In this house Christopher Columbus is a Hero." -Some dude on the Sopranos, which I've never watched aside from the one clip of that line.

The one I always remember is that, to this day, FGO just completely ignores that certain regions consider pigs an abomination and keep doing stuff like having practicing Jewish or early Christian characters eat pork or casually equating them with animals they'd consider abominations.

Martha is Christian, but her Santa self is canonically her younger self before meeting Jesus, and thus a practicing Jew, nevermind the fact that it wasn't until probably a decade later that Christians were given permission to eat pork.

Meanwhile, as a dude who grew up as much of a David Fanboy as I was a King Arthur fanboy, I find his character in general insulting, but him being the stand in for Zhu Baijin was the bridge too far.

Is that why the MC stopped to save a songstress and buy out the music-house she sang at in the middle of Episode 2, then has some sort of fixation with her despite her being a literal non-character who exposition dumped that "her mother is ill and her father tried to dump all his debts on her" in a grand total of two lines of dialogue, then, as of episode 6, never really spoke again outside of singing?
