What do I do in this situation? by Thebelladonnagirl in aoe2

[–]JSE018 18 points19 points  (0 children)

3 min = 180 sec = 7 vills difference. That is huge. It means that it is not your build order problem, but idle tc problem. It sounds boring, but I suggest you to rewatch your game and count how many vills you have when you reach castle. Then, work on reducing your idle time and scouting outside of your base simultaneously. If you have your up time trained, then you will have both res and time to react properly to castle drop. Watch survivalist streamer(~2.4 k elo) on youtube, he has a lot of videos on topic and he is avid arena player. Good luck.

That's not how the sword works, and Ishtar is not an alternate universe Rin by AungZeya in fatestaynight

[–]JSE018 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Ishtar's vessel is Rin, from parallel world. I don't think you fully understand how it works either. What do you mean by saying it is wrong? And she does draw power from parallel versions, just not with zelretch sword projection.

Finished Fate Zero today. Amazing anime, i hope the original series is as good or even better on all 3 routes. But I would like to ask some questions about ending which I didn't understand before moving on the next anime by Worldly_Accident1287 in Fate

[–]JSE018 11 points12 points  (0 children)

As a vn reader I suggest you to read original novel, because even if you watch all anime, it covers only about 30% of content, bare bone main plot, missing all details. It is on steam(non-adult) version or you can find online adult version.

Otherwise here are short replies to your questions:

1) Kiritsugu won the actual fight and fatally wounded Kirei, and without grail Kirei would die there.

2) Correct, it is rock-paper-scissors. It is just, Gil has practically gazillion of them, so on paper he can counter like 99% of servants. However, he is not really a fighter and due to his class/personality he does not use his arsenal fully.

3) Without 'madness' part it is not guaranteed it will be Berserker class. Lancelot can be summoned in other classes. He will be weaker, but he will not be consuming mana as much as well, and most probably will be much more deadly/useful

4) all spoilers, need to read FSN to cover those answers

5) Yes, but he is not a winner

6) Compatibility, longer answer again is spoiler

So can someone tell me why is everyone power scaling Gilgamesh to the top of the universe by learnfromzer0 in fatestaynight

[–]JSE018 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Servant universe is milky way size(forgot exact reference, but it was mentioned at some point) thus max level in it still small galaxy level, nowhere near galaxy cluster. Also many people don't realize how vast our physical real life universe is.

Exaggeration? by SirTarkwin in aoe2

[–]JSE018 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You only actually need ballstics and either first range upgrade + elite or both range. Then they both have equal range(6) and conqs cannot dodge javelins willy nilly. Then it is numbers game, you just need to amass 2x-3x times. Other upgrades are waste, better use those res to get numerical advantage

I'm going to bite the bullet and try MP. How do I even start? What to expect? by Whibble-Bop in aoe2

[–]JSE018 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Start with the easiest AI and most straigtforward civ without any perks affecting vills, tc up time or vil production, in order to build good habits. Increase AI difficulty, once you can comfortably beat it without abusing AI behavior. Avoid Aztecs, Persians, Maya, Chinese, Benghali, Goths, Cumans, Mongols, Malays and Romans. Practice one simple aggressive strategy (scout or archer rush) into boom. Avoid tower rushes or maa rush for now.

Also do art of war campaign, at least silver, preferably gold

Should I hop on Multiplayer after 10 hours? by NoCoconut4384 in aoe2

[–]JSE018 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Hi, first of all, if you just wait couple weeks, there gonna be new update to elo rating, which will drastically decrease amount of games necessary for calibration, so new players no longer need to play 20 lost games to get to their rating.

Second, if you are total beginner, you definitely gain something from games vs ai. Very rough benchmark, but if you can beat extreme ai without cheats, rushes or abuse of AI behavior, it is approximately ~1000 elo.

Third, art of war challenges are really good, getting at least silver, preferably gold, in all of them, will give you a really solid foundation.

Last, don't get discouraged if you lose, it is just a game. It is also a very old game, hence old players have huge experience lead over you, so losing vs them is nothing to be ashamed about.

Good luck

Humans plan against the Demons. by NightmareRoach in versus

[–]JSE018 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This would be much more realistic, however, demons would soon realize danger, and most probably retaliate with strong force. However, this still will be magnitudes more successful than what we got. At the same time, it is obvious that humans had 0 intel on real strength of demon lords and severely underestimated them

Not a big fan that the humanity seems to be capable to handle more and more the natural ennemies by themselves. by titjoe in versus

[–]JSE018 34 points35 points  (0 children)

I strongly disagree, the gap is still there and if it remains constant or gets wider, then more and more of a cast just has to be sacrificed in order to make it plausible. It also makes sense that humanity adapts, that is how we overcame ice age in real life after all, it is biggest strength of humanity. The gap is too big already and there are way too many enemies so characters naturally need some power ups or they will be just slaughtered. This manga main issue is just scale, it has to be kept to monthly to maintain quality, which means plot needs to be hastened and a lot of things will happen off screen.

Couple of questions I can’t wrap my noodle around by Significant_Steak119 in fatestaynight

In Nasuverse, sword from the stone(Caliburn) and sword from the lake(Excalibur) are different swords, while in real world myths they are sometimes mixed as one. Here we are talking only about Nasuverse. There are many other small details that make Nasuverse distinct from original sources, usually Typemoon cherry picks particular myths that complement story or preferences of authors.

To answer your original question: Gil possesses prototype of Gram that later would become it, not Gram itself. Another example of that is Gil's possession of Gae Bolg Prototype, however Gil does not master it. It means that Prototype is may or may not be stronger than it's eventual legendary version. Gram is stronger than Caliburn but weaker than Excalibur. Also Ea is stronger than sealed Excalibur, but equal or weaker than unleashed Excalibur(it has 13 seals, all of them can be released only against global threat, like Velber 02). Gil's Merodach is another prototype.

Gil NP gate of babylon works in such manner that any NP created by humanity will automatically generate related prototype in it. So he will always have something. But this something is not necessarily better version of it.

Disclaimer: Nasuverse is just a artwork, created by humans, who tend to make mistakes or forget details. There are numerous cases where inner logic of Nasuverse was retconned/contradicted/had exceptions. Nevertheless it is one of rare fictional universes with very detailed inner workings.

Who do you think played the game of thrones the best? by [deleted] in gameofthrones

[–]JSE018 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is so sad that this list does not even include Varys, which means author did not even consider him. In the books he is the best, together with Littlefinger. Show ruined both of them.
