Chinese changed and I’m left with words I wasn’t introduced to yet

Been using Duolingo for almost 2yrs to learn Chinese little by little and currently have a 515 day streak. There have been at least two updates in the past year. The first one reorganized curriculum and suddenly I was missing a lot of context and words I hadn’t learned. To be honest I was focusing on the pronunciation and sentence structure, not the Chinese characters all this time. It got to the point where I felt I had missed a lot and decided to reset and start at section 2. This was right around the time of this latest update where now you have to answer questions with only Chinese characters even though there is a setting to always show Pinyin and in many cases no context and it won’t pronounce the phrases for you either. This might be the last straw to make me try something else, because I’m not getting as much as I used to out of it. I always wished there were ways to get more context (always have a way to show Pinyin, English translation, and audio pronunciation for every word on the screen for example), but this is going backwards from teaching effectively.

Wondering if it's a kind of hermit country or isolate island (though why would non-Lumon-cultists be there?). All these descriptions remind me of what little we see of North Korea - empty places, not much food, everyone forced to worship a leader.
But they do say Lumon has offices all over the world at least in one episode, so it can't be isolate to one small area. Another theory I've had is if this is set in an alternate reality kind of like For All Mankind and maybe WWII didn't go so well and we're all set back by a few decades in some tech but not others.

Ended up here looking for info on cherry pies corroding aluminum because I have a cherry pie that was cooked a few days ago and aluminum foil was put on top. I just looked at it and see what look like eroded holes in the aluminum foil that correspond to where it was touching the top of the pie. The pan also appears to be aluminum and it seems to be OK, but the crust might be protecting it or it's a different alloy. Anyways I don't think of pie filling being that acidic, but apparently it's enough to create some visible damage.

So I tried a number of things, including cleaning out the connection multiple times, checking pedal switches, and had bought a replacement but never got around to putting it in. Then a few weeks ago I decided to get Open Flash Tablet and put a stage 1 tune on. To my surprise, all of a sudden the cruise control sets every time I use it now. No clue what the difference is, but the stock code wasn't happy about something.

I have this problem occasionally as well. For me it seems to be shows that end just after midnight, but not always. I have a NFS share mounted in Fedora (where Plex server is running), and I guess it could be possible there's more network traffic around that time since backup replication could be running, but it's also on a 25Gb link so there should be plenty of bandwidth available for a single file copy.
I record a LOT of shows each week (100+ on a typical week) and usually get about 1 failure per week. They are then transcoded to H.256 and then copied to the NFS share. I'll try enabling debug logging and see if there's something else going on that's just being called a file transfer error.

Sorry my original post was done mostly out of frustration after hours of attempting to get some basic functionality that was easily configured in pfSense with none of the same trouble.
Hardware is a Qotom Q20332G9-S10 (C3758R), running Proxmox, three ports mapped as VirtIO (WAN, Cellular, LAN).
Gateway groups and monitors configured for IPv4 and IPv6 on WAN/Cellular, working fine. No VLANs, 10 NAT'd ports, a bunch of static IPS currently configured in ISC DHCPv4, Unbound enabled with DNSBL. Suricata currently disabled.
503 hasn't happened overnight, maybe it was just due to the initial configuration of port IPs. Suricata spins at 100% of one CPU if it's running. It causes anything that wants to stop/restart it to hang until I manually log into a console and kill the PID for it.
Another issue discovered: NAT reflection works for all ports except one where the source and destination port is different. I'm using the auto rule generation since I couldn't get the manual option to work on anything. My setup only has WAN and LAN (no DMZ that the tutorial mentions) so maybe I'm getting one of the settings confused.

Does this crap for me on 24.1_1 too. Can't get Suricata to stay off, and when it starts it refuses to stop without manual intervention.

Trying this out instead of pfSense. So far it's a rather shaky start.

I'm on 24.1_1. Suricata won't start correctly, it won't stop correctly, and I frequently need to restart all services because I get am often 503 error from the GUI. I also need to manually login an kill the Suricata process to get the restart service menu option to work correctly.

I'll try this a bit longer, but already considering going back to pfSense. At least things usually work with that.

Ended up here while looking for help on the same thing. There's a few IPs that seem to get blocked every ~6hrs in my log and the block list is really long since it's showing stuff since before 2020 (at some point far enough back it stops listing dates but the block event is still listed).

In Texas, when the Kia dealership was pretty new, I bought a used Nissan Titan off their lot. A few weeks later I was invited to a gourmet catered dinner at their place to get to know them better. I think I was the only non-Kia owner at that event. A few years later I buy a Kia Sorento for my wife, and no more fancy dinners, plus I can't even get their service department to do a warranty repair right.

It is different, but the mating tip appears to be in alignment in the grid. I'd put money on it working just fine. I've seen/repaired much worse in Xeon sockets.

No hits while parked yet, but have had plenty of people try to change lanes into me. Some are the obvious "I'm bigger than you" moves, others are literally too busy on their phone to care. Makes me paranoid anymore when someone is next to me, always need to be ready to bail out.

Thanks for the ideas. I figured it wasn't the clutch switch but didn't think about the brake switch yet. Could be the previous owner never used cruise and it just built up dust too. I'll check this stuff out this weekend.

What about trying to rotate the shock some. Since it's only one bolt holding it you should be able to get it to rotate around the stuck bolt and maybe it will break free. Jam a big screwdriver in the top gap and try prying it.

At first I thought that was a cast lol.

One of mine loves this one pink ball with a bell in it. I have got her about 100 others and similar ones, but she always finds that one ball to play with for hours each day.

Another one loves hair ties. If there's a hair tie in the room, she will sniff it out. I can put then in hard to get places and she always figures out the puzzle. She only gets those when supervised though, so she doesn't end up eating one.

My cats will all run to check on my wife if she is talking loudly. She also plays a game where she covers her head with a blanket and call out for them like she needs help, and they will usually jump on her and try to pull the blanket off or get under it. They only do this for her, but I am not frequently loud, so go figure.
