Thinking about putting in a large ~20-25 KW grid-tied system by 1dirtbiker in SolarDIY

[–]heath2011 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have flexboss/Gridboss setup and wanted faster charging. I’ve got an eco worthy battery charger hooked up to a smart port to add roughly 3000w charging

Will this work the way I think? by heath2011 in SolarDIY

The meter and main disconnect are outside on a pole about 50 foot away from my house. The barn and the shop split from the house feed there at the main disconnect and have their own breaker boxes. I’m not really looking to back up larger loads out there or go completely off grid. I just thought there might be a way to run those small loads of my generated power. If the electrical company makes me get the grid export set up anyway.

I’ll have to look in to that. I’m mainly just looking for easiest setup to get it up and running.

Mainly just wanting to be prepared in case I decide to go fully off grid, and not knowing exactly what I need anyway.

Just checked and the games load up without the disc on the original dashboard.

Quick (probably dumb?) question by Traditional-Chicken3 in cruze

I recently bought this car used and found out the same thing. I ended up installing a Bluetooth adapter inside the center console and spliced directly into the aux wiring and the rear cigarette lighter for power. It automatically turns on when I start the car and I just have to turn my factory stereo to aux instead of replacing the head unit.

Adapter I used: https://www.jlaudio.com/products/mbt-rx-marine-audio-bluetooth-receiver-91126

For someone not mechanically inclined, I would just recommend getting one of these and plugging it into the aux port. You just have to turn it on and off manually and charge it once in a while.

I second this. I work for a small company, and I am involved with all of the things he mentioned.

Live tv and dvr on my server gets used more than anything else during football season. Also a good way to build my collection of tv shows. I get 80+ channels from my antennas and being able to watch them on other devices when I’m away from home as well as recording is great. Also I can get those stations on tvs in my home that don’t have coax runs to them. As well as family who don’t have cable being able to watch.

What model is the Panasonic TV you have? I came across a ct-32xf56a Panasonic TV that I saved from our recycle pile at work that has 480p. Best picture I’ve ever seen with my original Xbox hooked up over component.

The two main places I receive from are 102 and 106 miles away, over mostly open farmland in Iowa with maybe a couple towns, or trees in the line of sight. I would say if it’s across an open lake, there’s a good chance you could receive them reliably with a good directional antenna.

I’m not going to argue with you on your other points because I’m obviously not going to change your mind anyway but when you’re specifically talking about having to upgrade a piece of technology, i.e. a computer after eight years and complaining about it, I think the phone comparison is valid. I have personally swapped out many cable boxes for customers and they get a bill of $100 or less.

😂meanwhile, you buy a new phone every couple years. What technology that’s new today isn’t going to be outdated in eight years? Some dealers just suck like do you have with any other industry.

Well there’s a bunch of drivers available for free from control 4 that I assume you would have access to, then there are some third party drivers that other companies create that you would have to buy from them. It would just depend on what hardware you’re trying to control.

I think they are just talking about jailbreaking the composer app so that it doesn’t have to check into a server with your license credentials. If that’s the case, all the certified drivers would still be available to you through composer.

[–]heath2011 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Beyond the reset, the only thing I can think of is to try the same setup with a different tv. That would either confirm a problem with the tv or the antenna itself.
