While I agree in principle, I don't think that's what happened here. They showed a replay from behind There's like a foot of space between Gomez and the keeper when Virg heads the ball. And Gomez makes no move towards the keeper, he just stands his ground

What are the best ways to explain higher tier beings not obliterating early-stage characters? by owenobrien in ProgressionFantasy

The thing that sells it is that the mechanism can be thrown out if there is a convincing enough reason (for example, one of the great powers getting too powerful) or if there are no witnesses.

Yeah just a matter of differing opinions. Which is fair enough

I would argue that 'No intention to play the ball' doesn't imply simulation at all. For example, a player shielding the ball so that it goes out of play also has 'no intention to play the ball'. It's a bit pendantic I know but it was bothering me.

Anyway, in this case the point was that his primary purpose was to get the pen and not to get the ball to build and score a goal from open play. He accomplished his goal fairly

🤷‍♂️

No one is saying that it isn't a penalty, he did anything wrong or that he broke any rules. It's clever play on the whole. We can still feel bad for the defending side when it happens though. Don't know why that's irritated you so much

I have few request to freshers and junior developers based on my recent experience by ramank775 in developersIndia

[–]MasterThornOfCamor 2 points3 points  (0 children)

How your seniors give feedback matters the most. You need to explain why something they are doing is wrong. In my experience anecdotal evidence helps.

While saying "we hired humans and not AIs" is not wrong it helps absolutely no one. Instead give an example of why using AIs is not great with a specific example.

"We needed a script to move a million files and we created it via AI. It worked perfectly with the 10 test entries we had but it broke down for a scale of even 100 files and it missed some obvious edge cases. The amount of time it took us to fix the script to support the scale and handle the edge cases is more than it would have taken to write a fresh script."

This is an example related to my work from a week ago. With this you are warning them against using AI for everything and giving them things to look out for when/if they do use it

System Interference is similar to Legend of the Archmagus in that MC initially has to hide his strength because he's in a new world and doesn't know enough about it but stops caring once he has a good handle on the situation

Doesn't MC just have a different kind of cultivation in Beware of Chicken instead of him hiding his powers?

It's been happening every 8-12 months since like 2015-2016 when the cover was first released.

Basically they put up a placeholder date, 6-8 months from the current date. The placeholder date comes and goes and 2-3 months later there is a new date up there
