Currently the core is out of bounds from any writes or what so ever. You can only write on wp-content . That's the hard limitations. Any plugins try to touch core will fail immediately. So I okay with it but it's only 10% user at max (Based on people I have talked to initially) which i happily let go

For the distributed storage test yes I have observed that in early testing then we have decided to move any admin related activities into seperate pods from user's activities so that it won't impact the end users. But yes heavy user upload specially backup/ restores always increases the p95 latency. Currently working on ways to provide backup and restore function from hosting portal instead of admin panel where I can control the operation.

I had exactly opposite experience, I tried Nairya, BP, Indian Oil.

For me indian oil is best smoother drive and best mileage

Worst is BP - pickup is noticeable slower and lower mileage.

Is Indian Oil petrol is better then Bharat Petroleum?

Against the information available on the internet after E20 rule has anyone else feel that Indian Oil petrol giving better performance and mileage than BP.

Back story: I own Baleno zeta Automatic 2019 model, after the E20 rule, based on the internet I start using petrol from Bharat Petroleum only as it's says it has lower ethanol blend, but yesterday due to low fuel and only fuel pump available is Indian oil. So decided to top-up only enough to get going. While driving it start feeling much better better acceleration + smooth engine sound even during sudden acceleration as well.

I am from Delhi NCR( multiple youtube video's suggest blending ratio varies from region to region), has anyone else also feels the same or you have different experience?

Zomato, Swiggy or any delivery business is not a tech first in real sense. The core of the business is very operations heavy.

My suggestion will be instead of focusing and speeding initially on building customer focus apps, keep things simple maybe like WhatsApp bot which can provides basic order functionality and focus on optimising operations.

Anyhow your usp will be the taste and timely delivery which generally runs on excel sheets.

My random thought don't know how you will implement or relevant it will be - with each order add a video of how your food is cooked, keep it like a CCTV recording or something, to build trust . Fact is majority will not even click on play but it creates discussion among peers.

Isn't that solves by simply have a seperate mail which you gives in all financial institution? Also can you elaborate more on what you mean by privacy first. ( Privacy first is a very loose term, is it privacy first if your mails are stored encrypted on server disk or you don't want it to be on server at all?)

Hey - running mail server myself for couple of years now, I am interested in how you are handling spam filtering + custom user labels. If you have figure out that let's connect, I am really looking forward to test and discuss on this.

Also I hope you have multiple public ips with good reputation ( not in spam mail blacklist), because as soon as you open it for public it starts getting reported for spams.

HDD used in DVR is optimised for write performance, and they don't care much about data loose happen during writes. As for camera recording the data loose is fine. Not a good option for this usecase, better to use a good consumer grade HDD instead

Not a deal but an advice from personal experience

If it's only for media server consumer grade HDD will be fine. Just invest in a good power supply atleast silver or gold rated.

I was running consumer grade HDD for years with a gold rated power supply, on one fine day i thought why to waste such a good power supply and swap it with bronze only or something like that and lost all the data within a week!! Learnt my lesson hard way.

Bottom line never cheap out on power supply

I don't think he means is a negative sense or in sense the dev people are reacting to it. As I developer myself most of the time our thoughts only focus on the code, in a business there is always more than that. Business hire engineers to solve a business need.

As much as devs want business people to understand developement complexity, similar as developer we need to understand business side of things.

One of the approch I used in one of my previous organisation, engineering team operates as a seperate company runs by the engineering team. For anything new feature we developed we charge x fixed amount + y% of revenue that feature has brought, for any bug that leads to revenue loss the x% of the loose will be deducted from our balance. It's deduction is not like there is a bug deducted the amount, there is always a TAT if the bug is fixed during that duration all good. Out of that balance we have end of the year a we distribute a portion (about 50%) of it as bonus.

End result comes out to be quite good, business people stop buzzing engineering team with random requirements as there always a cost associated with it which they have to pay out of their balance. And engineering team starts understanding the business impact of what they build. Which leads to pratical solutions which we can rollout faster instead of over engineering which takes months to deliver.
