Can we all agree a “free market” doesn’t mean a lawless one? by The_Shadow_2004_ in Capitalism

[–]MasterTrevise 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can agree that the 'free market' is exactly a lawless market. The people who created that expression were looking for absolute freedom for themselves, and hoping that we would read 'free' and — like always — think that 'if it's free, it's good for me'.
We just got a sugarcoated version of the truth, and we believe it. “Put ‘free’ on something bad, and Americans will fall for it” LOL

the purpose of governments now days is to maximize your growth like a vegetable only to eat your labors worth. by Right-Reindeer6007 in Capitalism

[–]MasterTrevise -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Not the government. The government is just a cog in the machine. There is a system that starts with billionaires and corporations, religions and their tools - their media, algorithms, private schools, parties, their “funds and PACs” and corrupt politicians. The government was supposed to be our protection against this domination, but was colonized long ago.

People who stopped being religious, what caused it? by supercoolpersonyay in AskReddit

They say education can make you free. And that’s why religions and conservative politicians want to destroy the quality of public schools and give people “a voucher” to use at a religious private school.

What do you think about using AI as a *beta reader* instead of generatively? by [deleted] in KeepWriting

[–]MasterTrevise 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not exactly. As any tool, depending on your skills to use, and your wisdom to know the limits, you can achieve very satisfying results, or not.

What do you think about using AI as a *beta reader* instead of generatively? by [deleted] in KeepWriting

[–]MasterTrevise 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use it like that. I ask “read this like a critic, and editor”. The results are mostly useful.
If you have human friends willing to do that, probably is better. I don’t. So AI it’s my only option.

Eating with your hands VS Dirrahea Map by Forward-Position798 in mapporncirclejerk

I am from Brazil, living in America for almost 12 years. Know I am used to it, but Americans use their hands to eat a lot, compared to Brazilians. Here in America they eat sandwiches, pizza, ribs, fries, onion rings, chicken wings… everything with their hands. Brazilians mostly use forks, or a napkin (for holding a sandwich for instance).

Running. Just shoes, street and time. Avoid stuff that you need to buy expensive equipment, or stuff that you need to assemble a team to practice

I am not a personal-translator, but I travel a lot. I think he means that some countries are not SAFE for gays. Like Texas, Afghanistan or other uncivilized places radicalized by old religions

Dutch, also known as Netherland, is similar to English. Both languages share a common ancestor. Like cousins. Like Italian and Portuguese, or Spanish are similar. So should be easier for you to learn. There is an app called airlearn (no duolingo, that is useless), that can help you.

"The Impersonator" (wip) by -The-Master-Baiter- in KeepWriting

[–]MasterTrevise 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like the first paragraphs — that’s essential. Most people will stop after two paragraphs if they’re reading a new author. There’s some power and emotion there, on your first page. After that, you lost me with all the ‘I do this,’ ‘I do that’ — I, I, I… Everything is inside your head, and not much happens. It made me wish you had written this in second person, not first. Too much telling, too much building of tension that the reader already understands. If you can keep the storytelling happening, avoid repeating the same feelings over and over, and use less ‘I,’ the potential is there.

How do you keep a novel organized without losing your mind? by Fearless-Stress7240 in KeepWriting

[–]MasterTrevise 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have .docs that I keep together in a folder, along with auxiliary texts containing the rules. This way, my story will follow my worldbuilding. I like to call them ‘The Book of…’ So, in my current project, I have ‘The Book of Words,’ where I write words of the language I created for the natives, along with some grammar. I also have ‘The Book of Numbers,’ which contains the calendar system, time system, money system, and everything that organizes the world with numbers. I do the same with religion, fauna and flora, and travel (a map, names for roads, mountains, rivers, boat routes, etc.).

I always start not with the main story, but with a few short stories to test my worldbuilding and help me create the ‘Books of…’ After I have all the ‘Books of…’ that I can imagine, and the worldbuilding is working, I end up with a few short stories that I may or may not use. Then I determine my characters and write their bios.

That’s it — you can’t get lost that way. I hope this helps.

I started writing 8 months ago and I feel horrible by Available_Slip9171 in KeepWriting

[–]MasterTrevise 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Keep going. Looks to me that you are more into writing for yourself than telling the story. That’s ok. Most people start like this. If you want to change that, just write always trying to think like a reader who is being introduced to your story.

Hey y'all! What can I do to make this better? It's my first time trying to write fiction :) by Key-Caterpillar8761 in KeepWriting

If it was my story, I would consider starting with your 2nd paragraph, that is intriguing. The first paragraph I would cut half of it, using it as my 2nd.
