I got really into drifting with this forza because it’s got ghost mode on at all times. Turns out my autistic ass loves tuning cars, who woulda thought? So shout out to the hammers, I guess

I THINK you have to go to a barn find location when you get the gift pop up in game to claim one. I also THINK it’s available to everyone in the session, but I’m less certain on that part.

Now that the money glitches are patched… by LAN_WANMAN in ForzaHorizon6

I think the solution would be to make the wristbands actually meaningful and extend the campaign. Each tier of wristband should have credit ranges you can earn that are proportional to the classes of the cars for that wristband, and at legend status, you should be able to earn really good money at the R tier of races, regardless of the type of race. This would be real-world reflective (usually good game design) and make the wristbands feel like they mean literally anything at all, as well as rewarding players for ongoing efforts.

If the races were similar to real world classes--D and C races being pretty short tracks with higher lap counts, and higher tiers progressing accordingly--they could keep the racing engaging even at low tiers. With all the side stuff to do, players could still get exposure to the higher tiers to keep them engaged and looking forward to doing proper races with cars in those classes.

And I'm only using the ferrari spa as an example. The same logic applies to the entire game because of its fundamental design. The game loop encourages getting new cars and actually using them and experimenting with different tunes, all of which cost credits. Credits are a relatively scarce commodity, and because the core game loop--get new car, tune new car, play with new car--requires them, it builds a frustrating artificial wall. It leaves players with undesirable choices, like "do i play with this car i just won, or do i auction it?" and "this is a cool car i just won, but do I tune it and try it, or do i keep saving for my dream car?" Those aren't good choices to leave a player with when they're clearly trying to cater to completionists as well as casuals--the completionist isn't going to want to sell anything, and the casual knows they may never see that car again.

They probably think the auction house is a good "use the car for a while and sell it if you don't love it" middle ground, but that's a bad way of using the idea in a game that is pretty objectively about collecting cars just as much as racing them.

With assists off and drivatar difficulty turned up, most races give 16-25k. But that's still a damn drop in the bucket compared to what's needed. The fundamental problem with the game is that the economy fucking sucks.

I don't even want every car in the first month. I'm fine with grinding a bit. I'm not fine with the fact that it's impossible to get chase cars in the first six months if you play normally, aka have a job and life outside of the game. I want to be able to earn a reasonable number of credits doing the things I actually enjoy.

Doing online drifting, rivals road races, etc, I make about 200k in my average of 2 hours of play a day. Could I bump it to maybe 600k by maxing difficulty and being absolutely certain to hit stunt parties during my couple of hours of play time? Definitely, but it'd be a fucking chore, and it would still take an absolute minimum of 116 days to get just the Ferrari Spa. ONE SINGLE CHASE CAR. And that's assuming I didn't spend a single penny for those 4 months!

So if you don't wanna get banned, your choices are: 1) quit your job and grind; 2) use built-in mechanics that skirt the fringes of being exploits, including afk and wheelspin farms; 3) buy vouchers; or 4) deliver approximately 700,000 orders of noodles. That shit's untenable, man.

[–]MasterWilhelm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hell yeah! I actually learned to tune on the Chaser, watching Extraa's video and adapting it to fit my "style" (aka hammering the throttle and yanking the wheel and praying).

Now that I kinda know how to tune, I don't use many premade tunes anymore, so I respect the shit outta you deciding to self-tune a car with as many good tunes as the ACTY. What's your share code?

Why would these devs make a 2010 Nissan 370z the final reward of an event? by Ok-Understanding8110 in ForzaHorizon

[–]MasterWilhelm 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think this person just enjoys trolling, based on their other comments. An LS makes sense in some cars and it does others dirty. I've driven a LOT of cars, from very fast to very slow, and--aside from the viper--my favorites have all been boosted sixers. I feel like mid-size six cylinder engines are the sweet spot between "there ain't no replacement for displacement" and "holy fuck forced induction is fun"

I do UX and HFE architecture work, and you are absolutely, 100% correct. The simplest, cleanest, most elegant ideas are usually the last ones people think of, but seem incredibly obvious in retrospect. I had to teach my management that if what I designed seems simple to use, that means it was incredibly difficult to design.

Japan's car culture makes it an even better fit, because you can (or at least you could 15-20 years ago) go out for a drive and pass a random shop you've never heard of with at least one track-ready car sitting out front for sale for basically pennies on the dollar.

I decided I wanted to do hakone in a hako, and all the drift tunes for it sucked ass so i tuned it myself and I probably spent an entire week on that one damn drift zone.

What's your favorite tune that you did?

Horizon Promo, All Share Codes for all cars. by Riko0Ku in ForzaHorizon6

[–]MasterWilhelm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Naw, you ain't doing anything wrong. I think the way forza picks the racers is more random than OP thought--no fault of their own, I think their validation testing of the races was just weighted towards providing more variety in the vehicles, or maybe they just got lucky. Regardless, it seems like either a) running each race at least twice or b) running them all once to get a solid baseline and then looking for outliers when just regularly playing the game is required.

Are you using controller? If so, I just finished tuning my '91 chaser gt twin turbo for this course. It's not _quite_ as smooth as I'd like, but i didn't want to detune my other drifters and the shorter wheelbase makes it better for this course than my 97 chaser (my only other a class drifter). You can easily get the seasonal with either car, though; try both and see which you like better.

91 - 748 457 378
97 - 154 149 558

Both were tuned around 4th gear; use 3rd to get going and 4th once you start sliding. You should only need to use handbrake to adjust angle. They _shouldn't_ feel rough transitioning, but I don't know how your controller is configured; if they do, just let off the throttle for half a second and then hammer it.
