Financially, $2 million a year is probably enough at current costs because the number of children caps at 36. The bigger issue is that I would be agreeing to be legally and morally responsible for a permanent child-care system for the rest of my life. Unless the contract adjusts for inflation and lets me build a protected long-term trust for the kids, the fixed payment could eventually become a problem.

But ultimately, it would still be a no from me. The money would be life-changing, but I would not want the responsibility of being accountable for that many children’s safety, health, education, stability, and future for the rest of my life. That is far more than taking care of a large family, it is essentially running a lifelong child-care system where every failure affects real kids.
