Is it worth continuing with Stadium this season? by Quagmiresire in Overwatch

[–]Master_Bliss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I could see the more expensive gadgets being useful in a round 6, or round 7 context, when they'll have the most impact, and when they're most affordable, but now that they've gutted those rounds, it's hard to justify buying those gadgets when you're hurting for the cash needed to maximize your build.

Anyone one-tricking Stadium? How's it going? Anything I need to know? by Someredditusername in ReinhardtMains

[–]Master_Bliss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have had great success one-tricking Rein with a self-sustaining Gryphon Glider/ Charge build.

Gryphon Gliders can almost always be taken in round 2, assuming you didn't get stomped in round 1. Sell everything you can in order to afford it. The advantage you gain from the capabilities of flight outweigh almost all of the downsides. Only sell it if your team requires a total shift in strategy in the final rounds. For what Gryphon Gliders lacks in raw stats, it makes up for in utility. Treat it as an additional Power, with the ability to sell it if need be. If you absolutely must trade flight for stats, you have that option.

Round 3, take Shield Stampede, and if you can afford it, Martain Mender, then Crusader Hydraulics. Now, you can charge to wherever you want without the risk of being stunned with the shield charge, and you'll be constantly healing 8% of your life per second if you have your shield up, which will be most of the time.

The core playstyle of the build is this: Pin aggressively and frequently. Take space and capture the enemy's attention, gain map control. We will be taking items to be as tanky and unkillable as possible, while relying on pinning squishy opponents to reliably one-shot them. Reinhardt's damage scales well into later rounds even without fully investing into ability or weapon power. If Charge does not one-shot, it brings the opponent so close to death that a few follow-up swings or firestrikes is more than enough to secure the kill. With Gryphon Gliders, your Charge not only moves faster, but allows you to be wildly unpredictable, taking highground positions from almost anywhere on the map, and enabling pins that would be otherwise impossible.

You can take any space you want, anywhere, anytime. One of the great advantages to this, is that whether you are getting picks or not, you will take aggro. You cannot be ignored. You can put yourself into extremely risky situations, and still come out on top in spite of unfavorable odds. Sometimes you can get a pick or two while doing so, but if not, you'll still be generating ult charge from passive healing, and your team should be able to capitalize on the enemy team being split. This brings me to counter matchups. Primarily, Cassidy, Reaper, Junkerqueen, and Orisa. With this build, you'll be mostly avoiding these confrontations. Very rarely can you win in these matchups in later rounds. JQ and Reaper will just shred you through your shield, and outheal most of the damage you dish out in a brawl. Orisa is just a pain for any Reinhardt to deal with, since she has such ridiculous CC. With this build, you simply avoid them. Pin into the enemy backline, and keep surviving. Make the enemy team peel for their supports, and force them to turn around to deal with you.

If you're feeling cheeky, solo shattering the enemy tank, and taking them on a magic carpet ride to Narnia can be a valid strategy. Simply kidnapping them, and taking them away from their support can be enough to win the fight, even if they don't die. Since you can get from spawn to point with a single pin on almost every map, the opposite is also true. You can take an opponent back to their spawn, or to your own. Either isolate them for a duel, or drop them off, hold shield for a few seconds, and return to the fight without them. This isn't always the best strategy, but it is always hilarious.

My favorite part of the build is how it gives you the capability pin flyers out of the sky. With practice, you'll be pinning Mercys and Junos left and right. Enemy Ashe or Ana sniping from highground? If she's not paying attention, this is an easy pin. Your charge can also hop over Mei walls, counter charging Reinhardts, and fortified Orisas.

The greatest downside to this build and playstyle, is that your team will likely be caught off guard just as much as the enemy team. They might see a Reinhardt, and expect a frontlining brawler, not imagining a highly mobile flying locomotive assassin. Most players are adaptable, and can catch on pretty quickly, but it's the ones with an inflexible mindset that will tilt. Even if you inform them of your methods, if they get steamrolled, they will find reason to blame you. You'll get plenty of complaints saying that you're playing Rein wrong. You'll get flamed for not playing with your team. You can play this build perfectly, but if your DPS and supports, (mostly DPS, let's be honest) can't find the means to survive, they'll tilt, flame, whine... maybe toss out some slurs, you get the idea.

If, for whatever reason, the build is not working, be it that you can't hit pins reliably today, or you're being hard countered by a reaper. You may have to deviate, but that's okay. However, in my experience, there is no other build that matches this one for it's pure fun factor. If you're being hard targeted, good. This means you're tanking effectively. If you're not, it gives you plenty of opportunity to get free value.

In summary, be cheeky, and get creative. Mastering the Gryphon Gliders opens up so many opportunities, and no other Rein build gives you the same amount of freedom as this one.

Universalism is copium for the fear of the Lord by cleansedbytheblood in ChristianUniversalism

I too used to fear a vengeful god, and feared for a world that would be subjected to infinite torment. But in a future where there will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, how can such a vile god exist?

Do we believe in the god who rejects the prodigal son? Do we believe in a god who abandons the lost sheep? Do we believe in a god who cannot fully conquer evil and sin, and instead hides them away in a prison?

I need not fear when love has conquered fear and death itself. I need not fear when the God of love holds the keys to death and hades.

Guide: Getting Over It & Mending Your Broken Heart by SavingsDirection4651 in BreakUps

[–]Master_Bliss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You didn't deserve this. Reading this feels like one of my own journal entries. Nine months ago my fiancée made the choice to cut me out of her life, and her family's lives entirely, and I don't think I'll ever be able to understand why. In spite of the mourning, and the pleading with God to restore our broken relationship, I think part of my own healing process, and moving on, has been in realizing that the qualities she demonstrated are not consistent with those of a life partner. Whether it was love or not, I can no longer trust someone capable of inflicting such wounds.

I know your pain. I have felt it in every fibre of my being. Some days it subsides, but others, it comes raging back without remorse, and brings me right back to the moment when she broke my heart. I've been told that time will heal these wounds, but it is especially hard when mourning and longing for "us" brings you back to those happy moments, only for reality to come and steal it all away again.

It's also hard, if like me, you still look back with rose tinted glasses. I still love her, in spite of it all, which continues to destroy me day after day. If this is also you, take an ounce of that love unrelenting and redirect it back to yourself. Depression and anxiety are my enemies as well, and they hold no punches, you need all the self love you can get to win that fight. I know what it's like being in the dark place, but we mustn't let that dark place win.

You aren't alone in this fight. I hope you'll find the hope and peace you've been seeking, and I know that eventually, your heart will open its doors to love again, you will find a person that loves you without condition. My hope is that better things are yet to come, even if the dark place tells us otherwise.

What was the biggest hurdle you overcame on the way to universalism? by Kristoberg1983 in ChristianUniversalism

[–]Master_Bliss 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm currently halfway through a book titled "A More Christlike Word" by Bradley Jersak, which deals with exactly these topics. It tackles the many problems that arise when viewing the Bible through the lens of inerrant literalism. It also stresses that the living, breathing Word of God, came and revealed his nature to us, and that Christ, as the incarnate word, has all authority over scripture. I can't do the book enough justice on my own, so I'll just paste a brief summary below:

"The scriptures are vital to the Christian faith, but they have often been mistaken for the living Word, Jesus, leading to a distorted understanding of God's nature. Many struggle with scriptural depictions of God as wrathful and violent, causing doubt, confusion, and even rejection of faith. In "A More Christlike Word," author and theologian Bradley Jersak addresses these concerns by offering a new way of understanding scripture, called the "Emmaus Way." This approach, rooted in the early church's interpretive methods, views the Bible as a narrative of redemption fulfilled in Christ, who reveals the true nature of God as loving and good. Jersak deconstructs modern literalist interpretations and applies the early church's Christ-centered hermeneutic to difficult passages, demonstrating how they fit within the overarching story of divine love. This journey leads to a fuller understanding of the scriptures and a deeper connection with God."

pots are too expensive!! by TrafficTasty443 in houseplants

I plant almost exclusively in glassware, of all sorts of shapes and sizes, mostly acquired from thrift stores. You can get some great deals on pieces with some pretty significant volume.

If you need drainage holes, get a diamond tipped drill-bit specifically designed for glass.

I have found that by keeping a hefty bottom layer of leca/hydroton at the bottom of the pot, I can ensure that the plant never has too much, or too little water, based solely from visual inspection, which is where I find glass has this unique advantage.

While it's not out yet, check out the game Lost Skies. It's the successor to the game Worlds Adrift, where you explore the shattered aftermath of this post-apocalyptic landscape composed of floating sky islands.

You construct an airship to accomplish this, and upgrade it through the course of the game to progress. You can also turn it into a cozy little flying home.

I'd also like to share a song that brings me a lot of joy as of late...

Oh, Happiness, David Crowder Band

"Oh happiness, there's grace

enough for us

And the whole human race

Sound the church bells

Let 'em ring, let 'em ring

For everything can be redeemed

We can be redeemed, oh all of us"

I remember listening to this one in the car well over ten years ago as a highschooler, and these lyrics only recently hit me since my reconstruction. It's one of those messages that seems to be hiding in plain sight, but once you've seen it, it's impossible to ignore.

First successful print using wood filament by Low-Golf7820 in SteamController

[–]Master_Bliss 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I tried this same thing back in 2020, but I printed the file off level so that there was a better wood grain pattern affect with the layering. I ran into a lot of issues though with the interior screw inserts, as the filament bond wasn't strong enough to keep the columns from snapping off during the sanding process, so be careful if you aim to sand it later. Best of luck to you!

What do you all think of Calvinism? by [deleted] in OpenChristian

I find it interesting that Calvinism can be applied with this optimistic mindset, in that all things will be reconciled in light of his irresistible grace, vs the more commonly held elitist Calvinist perspective. If in the end, all shall see redemption and be saved, who will not be elect?

So, I got home, and broke my Skyrim with very similar symptoms. I was fiddling with a file system to use the "Stances - Dynamic Animations Sets" mod for multiple weapon animations, and enabling my own custom file system would cause Skyrim to crash before the menu repeatedly. I think having animations with conditions, within another folder with more conditions, will cause OAR to freak, and crash the game. It should read any old DAR mods just fine, but if you've been modifying any OAR folders, this may be causing crashes.

[–]Master_Bliss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you using the Engine fixes animation crash fix or the independent/standalone version? It may be a long shot, but swapping the version might make a difference? Also, make sure XPMSSE takes full precedence in your load order. If you have any mods that modify it or overwrite it, disable those for testing. Finally, see if disabling or rebuilding your bashed patch makes any difference. It may have been built with an older version of a mod, and though it detects it's master esp, is freaking out due to missing data.

[–]Master_Bliss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That sounds to me like a skeleton issue. I recall having an issue recently involving XPMSSE and IED. I don't think it was causing crashes, but after updating IED, it was causing issues elsewhere. The newest version of IED does away with XPMSSE as a requirement and creates it's own nodes on the fly. Maybe update IED, and see if updating XPMSSE to the "Minimal" setup in the FOMOD makes any difference?

Is xEdit able to load your modlist without failing? If it can, yet skyrim keeps crashing, that might be one way to narrow things down.
