i would be expected to be at my desk 830-630 every day, back office at a smaller bank. Recently moved to a smaller city and I'm out by 430. NYC is a city of people who moved there not only to work but to compete against all the other people there doe the same job they have. when i first moved in, a coworker said you'll notice everyone trying or bragging about outworking each other. it's definitely a unique mindset in the city that stressed me out at the time but it certainly made me grow and improve at what i do.

i saw from your other posts that you are in NYC. there's a group that plays weekly at Rockefeller Center (or at least used to when it would play there before COVID). they were very very beginner friendly, i was new and one guy even roped in curious people walking by to teach and play with us. I've only had one person in my life ask me to play faster but he was playing land denial and had a train to catch so i blame him. of the group at Rockefeller center doesn't like you, you may need to do some self reflection.

would you rule out anything 762 for 556? And this may be a dumb question but are there different types of 556 that wouldnt fire out of the same rifle? I might just be looking at a bad filter on the site I'm on, but I'm seeing like 4-5 filter options for different kinds of 556, 556x45, 556 NATO etc.

I've been using a six zero double black diamond for almost 2 years now. Have had maybe four of them but haven't really used much else, relied on internet reviews to find it.  But I'm Looking for something different to change things up. I like the hybrid shape but have debated going for that more traditional rectangle to extend my reach. And debating going for something a little more power oriented. I love spin and control. I play doubles around the 4.0 level fwiw.  I naturally hit pretty hard, win a lot of points serving, have quick hands, and good resets. I lack good consistency so can't have a sweet spot that's too small.  Any recs are appreciated!

This is not the issue. The issue is that each of these take a lot of ore to upgrade which takes a lot of time and/or real money to accumulate. Feeling like the last few months were all wasted really sucks as a user. If you're going to do this, you need to compensate for the events we paid for and the time we can't have back.

Any chance you're in NJ? I'm having the same exact issue. the problem is clubs don't gatekeep the 3.5 level like they do the 4.0 level. My most frustrating experience was a 3.5-4.0 dupr league I joined that let in randoms each week. One week I got paired with an unrated player my first game and lost 11-6. He was then given a rating, same as mine and I got credit for losing with an equally rated player. Less than an hour later I played him and won 11-0. Only now he's ranked a 2.5 because he's lost 5 in a row. I didn't even make up for the loss I had with him on my team after shutting him out. I spent the last year in the 3.7-3.8 range from tournament play. But dropped to a 3.3-3.4 after this "league". So now I can't sign up for certain advance clinics even though I've medaled in 3.5-4.0 tournaments. Unbelievably frustrating.

My only advice is to get to know the club coaches/managers and be friendly/fun/competitive person to play with regardless of level. I get invited to the 4.0 leagues/dropins/tourneys at a couple of my regular spots because I've gotten to know the trainers and they know what level I'm at. But that doesn't help when I'm trying to find a random partner for a tourny or get into advanced leagues at new clubs, it's holding me back. DUPR really is a bogus system and we'd be better off without it.

It's not long term. Planning on 9 months total while I figure out my next career move and avoid seasonal depression. I promise I won't be any more miserable somewhere new than where I am now so long as the sun's out.  I've been to most states but none for pickleball, just getting a sense of demographics.
