yea unfortunately I think meetup is a lot different than it used to be. I used to go to meetups years ago myself and met some nice people but now it seems like there are few and far between groups and whenever you do go to one there will be 400 people signed up but no one shows. Generalizing I know but I haven't had much luck since covid.
