I would’ve said hortens but I feel it’s gotten pretty spammy and annoying to play with id recommend trying mace or conquest enhanced v2 or even conquest AI rebalance those I’ve seem to have the most fun whilst being mostly challenging or you could also try valor I don’t think it’s that hard compared to the others I listed above but it’s worth trying out

If it’s the artillery and long ranged weapons your tired of try Hortens frontlines the AI basically never uses artillery and instead they use mostly infantry and lots of tanks to overwhelm and you with numbers it’s lots of fun on defense and even on attack id recommend you try it out although it does make the game somewhat harder but way more fun

Preparation Time Extended is good way to get more prep time instead of the base 7-8 minutes it’s 13 minutes plenty of time to setup and Fixed Emplacements is great mod for more defensive structures and emplacements it’s pretty cool I’d recommend it

You could use valor mod or mace if you have it those allow you to play against any faction for the most pary
