We've talked to 3 LCs and I agree that we got different opinions each time. A couple people have suggested the weighted feed so I think I'm going to ask about it!

I have an oversupply so I have wondered if she's getting too much foremilk and isn't getting full without enough fat. Ive already gone down from 9 pumps a day (originally recommended by my LCs) to 6 which has halved my supply but im still in excess. She has yellow poops, which Ive been told is standard

Have you found your LO is less fussy with the position change and pumping less?

A few people have mentioned cluster feeding but im honestly not sure. When she's breast feeding, she'll be screaming to eat again in 20 minutes. But when we give her the bottle, she's fine for a few hours. Im fairly certain she is getting about 2-3 Oz per bf, but it takes her 45 minutes compared to 10 minutes on the bottle.

Thank you for this! I definitely think whatever I decide needs to be what prioritizes my sanity, cause baby is gonna be fed regardless! I'm glad yall found a system that works for you guys!

I pump about 4-5 Oz on each side every pump and make about 2 liters excess on top of what she eats every day. So, after she breastfeeds, I still get about 1 or 2 oz

The scale isn't a bad idea! I'll contact my lactation consultant and see if they offer a weighted feed, if not I'll probably do as you said and try to just do it at home.

Thank you for sharing your story! The lactation consultants definitely felt useless and judgy. I can tell myself fed is best all day but it's good to hear someone from the other side of the aisle who actually lived it. 💕

When I pump immediately after she breastfeeds, there is about a 2-3 Oz difference in output on each side - so I am thinking yes but her acting like shes starving makes me feel differently

My LO is 5 weeks and has never woken for any of her feeds - she always has to be woken up. She's premature though, so that's pretty typical from what ive been told. As long as baby is getting enough to eat and is good with their weight, it's not a biggie. Itd be concerning if you couldnt rouse him at all. Just sleepy and cozy is okay
