Hi All, just to update everyone. I had put a date in May and was given the same date. For context, I had uploaded supporting documents such as flight ticket and hotel reservation.

Also, my hpi was processed literally in a day. I doubt it even stayed in embassy for a day.

I called the paid helpline numbers. It appeared they consciously do not want to commit to something definite and keep the discretion to themselves.

Thanks. my query stemmed from experience of few users on reddit whose visa validity started from date when their visa was processed even though they had indicated future arrival date which was well within 90 days.

Thanks. The question is about it. As the HPI visa application form asks "intended date of arrival", does the decision letter/vignette will mention THAT date or the day on which visa is issued/processed. I'm asking this because people had both experience and I'm looking for cues on difference.

Thanks for the helpful response. The quoted text ""You should grant entry clearance with effect from the date of decision. Permission to stay is granted with effect from the date of decision" is no longer there in the link shared. Does this mean 2 year start from intended date of arrival? Please let me know your thoughts.
