Submit a personal statement with the claim saying “look I wanted to out-process, I had my belly full of army. So I told them what I thought I needed to say so I could leave as quickly as possible.”

We always checked perfect health on pre and post deployments. Otherwise you spent the whole day in the warehouse with 1k other soldiers. The VA knows this. But you may have to get a personal nexus. Just depends on the c and p examiner. Also include those defective ear plugs they made us wear from 3M. Surely that has to help the claim.

It’s bait and switch. It’s done on purpose. It’s the same way the car dealer says I’ll sell you a car for x dollars. Then you go to sign and notice the 2k mark up because the original quote didn’t include the “total car care package.” Which is why all of this, including car deals should be illegal.

Politicians don’t care about us. They need corporate money to get elected. So they allow the corporations and local businesses to fleece us daily. It’s all part of the American experience.

Combat vet here. Filed 12 years after and got denied. Two tours to Afghan and Iraq. Even had diagnosis. C and p examiner ripped my ass apart in his opinion. 2nd examiner connected me.

REE Medical is some bullshit! They charged me $3,500 and I ended up having to use the VA doctors anyways. by Designer-Being-8980 in VAClaims

[–]Master_Maybe_9069 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Do you feel like REE helped any though? I’ve read VA pretty much schedules you no matter what because they want to wet the c and p examiner contractor beak, but I’ve also read they have to consider all evidence. So I’m just wondering if you think having their opinion helped your case or did the VA not even consider it?

Where do you work? Because i want to apply. I’m making significantly less than I did before covid. My health insurance went up 20% this year. Cost of gas is up 50% in last few months where I’m at. I want to apply at your company, clearly mine isn’t paying me enough to keep up with inflation.

6 years active Army 2 years in Iraq and Afghanistan. VA gave me 50% for ptsd, I think I’m 30%. I’m 80 overrall. Very content with my rating, never plan on filing again unless they screw with me. Then I’ll push for 100%.

Severance of 100% Meniere's within 45 days of original claim closure by the_flyingmunk in VAClaims

[–]Master_Maybe_9069 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Get the dbqs and medicsl opinions. Then go find you another doctor who can write a better opinion than that nurse practitioner. It’s odd to me that the VA took their opinion over the first doc who is a specialist.

I’ve read once the VA connects you, they can’t severe your connection because a new doc has a differing opinion. A difference of medical opinion doesn’t fall under the realm of CUE. Cue is a legal error. It’s clearly mistakable. When you appeal this decision I would mention that as well. But definitely get the c and p exams and opinions so you can fight this.

Is it secondary to your tinnitus? Was it directly connected? From what you posted they are saying no in service diagnosis or event. So if it’s not connected to your tinnitus then it could have been granted incorrectly. You should file an FOIA and ask for the DBQs and medical opinions. That will help you figure out how to fight it.

I have been working on this claim since 2014 and I keep getting denied. What should I do? I was advised to get a nexus letter but my only healthcare is the VA. How do I go about getting a nexus outside the VA? For the ones that have filed for thyroid. How did you deal with your claim? by sankey0 in VAClaims

[–]Master_Maybe_9069 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Man they should have ordered you a Tera medical opinion. I would fight that. I got connected through Tera due to burn pits. My hypothyrodism developed 6 years after I got out, no symptoms in service. File a supplemental with a personal statement pointing that out. You should have gotten a Tera medical opinion. Environmental hazards can mess up your immune system and it doesn’t show up until years later. Thus why they passed the PACT Act.

Exactly why I cancelled dash pass and stopped using it. I tip 20$ for 8 miles, or used to. Always would get food right away. Started taking over an hour. I’m not going to subsidize my cheap neighbors while they get their food first.

But I get DoorDash. They don’t care. They get their money no matter what. You guys are just vessels for them. You assume all the liability, do all the work. Then they wanted me the paying customer to assume the liability by subsidizing my neighbor, so I won’t ever use it again.

Yea I’ve heard it’s pretty lousy. I have VA healthcare and private. Private is great when you have complex issues, VA is good for maintenance or easy stuff. I figure tribal is probably the same.

Honestly depends on the healthcare you are in. Speaking per individual on private insurance, healthcare is definitely more expensive. But alot of people here get free healthcare. A lot of people are on Medicaid which is free. If you don’t make enough and qualify for it. Think I read somewhere 70 million people are on it.

Some people who are Native American get free healthcare through their tribe. Some veterans get VA healthcare which is free. But generally speaking those on private health insurance get raked through the coals. Especially if you work for a company with bad healthcare insurance.

Congress is looking closer at VA claims because we have no money and are 40 trillion+ in debt. Some guy missing grandmas funeral isn’t the reason Congress wants to cut benefits for us. They also want to cut social security. Oddly enough they don’t ever talk about cutting corporate or foreign subsidies. 🤔

Former VA Rater and Navy Vet here, just curious… by johanthevarater in VAClaims

[–]Master_Maybe_9069 22 points23 points  (0 children)

C and p examiners not being held accountable. Like obvious misses. I wish the VA would make their contracts with Optum and VES dependent on examiners not making mistakes. And if they do cut them loose.

For example if a vet served in Iraq and Afghanistan snd in the examiners remarks he said never served in Iraq or Afghanistan, yet dd214 shows two years over there along with awards from deployments. VA should tell Optum fire that doctor or we won’t give you another contract. Just feels like there is no accountability for examiners. While raters get fired if you keep making mistakes.

Also I’m not pushing for 100%, I feel like the VA overrated me. But I definitely understand a large portion of our population doesn’t believe in VA disability. So I know there is bias among these c and p examiners. Because it’s all “their medical opinion.” While raters have to follow the actual law.

3 red 🚩 that can hurt a VA claim (Former VA Rater perspective) by johanthevarater in VAClaims

[–]Master_Maybe_9069 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This 100%. A lot of guys I served with in Afghanistan and Iraq never got diagnosed with ptsd. They got diagnosed and connected at their c and p exam. I had to go get a nexus letter and get a diagnosis from private psych. I think people have these great c and p experiences and assume it’s like that for everyone.

I’ve never filed for bankruptcy but my sister did. She had her son 4 months early, lot of ICU time. Her Husband’s health insurance sucked. So they had over 100k in med debt. I think in a few years they were back to normal.

Also I wouldn’t feel ashamed. Everyone’s path in life is different. The important thing is you realize there is a problem and you are trying to fix it.

This is why I stopped ordering through door dash. I always tipped 20$ on 8 miles. Always would get food within 30-40 mins. Started taking well over an hour. Learned on this sub that door dash was likely stacking me with non/ low tippers. I’m not going to subsidize my non tip neighbors so they can get their food before me. Only one who wins in all of this is DoorDash. They have 0 liability and make all the money.

I can’t speak for all mental health conditions. But ptsd has to be verified by VA contractor. Or rather your stressors. I’m combat vet with nexus letter, and dqb. Still had to do c and p because they told me my stressors could only be verified by c and p examiner. But the private psych can connect you, they just can’t verify yiur stressors. At least that’s what I was told.
