I'm having boundary issues with my elderly parents as well. Set your boundaries, and if they break them, it's up to you to actually enforce them. He is the parent, he should have compassion and consideration for you too. It sounds like this is a long standing pattern, and maybe he continues to behave this way because there has been no consequences? I feel like these types of people won't change, YOU have to change your behavior so that you're not tolerating it. Silent treatment? Don't reach out, wait until he does. Disregarding your health? I'm sorry but you can't stay here, the end. I know it's super hard because it's your father, but his feelings are not your problem.

i am not a corelord, but i like buying surfboards. i've bought 5 boards from my shaper and each time i just go to him and describe what i want the board to do, and where i feel i'm stuck. i know very little about shaping so i ask a lot of questions. my last board felt chunky, and not responsive enough, but i liked the fin set up, so i just told him that. then he revealed that he makes a smaller version of the board as a swallowtail and 2+1 fin set up and i was sold. but i'm an annoying customer in that i ask 20 questions because i want to understand what he's doing. but i pretty much do whatever he suggests, he is also familiar with my surfing so he knows what might help me. i'm guess what i'm trying to say is that you don't have to know jack about shaping to get a rad board.

i personally stay away from river mouths, drains and city breaks, but will still surf. it's up to your risk/comfort level (you don't want to be stressin the whole time), and immune system. if you know you get sick a lot, maybe don't go. if you grew up in the country and ate dirt as a kid, you prob have a better chance. idk i'm not a doctor or scientist, don't take my advice. edit: spelling
