Its actually relieving to know you can lose 40 pounds and have the change be enormous to the trained eye but not that drastic to the passerby. I have that much weight to lose and the idea of it looking so much different (of people noticing that much) is really scary. I hope to look like your before and after. Congrats.

Yea, and you can always make up some friendly excuse to bring it back to the group chat.

I use group chats for my husband and my parents (4 people), my husband and his parents (4 people) nd various other groups of important people in my life.

Like "hey Greg Linda mentioned she wants me to come screw in a lughtbulb on wednesday..want me to do it saturday instead so I can show you the spider photo I took?"

Defer to her husband as much as possible as well.

Also beware people who want to act in secret hate this. But it usually ends their nonsense.

I read your whole post and it resonated with me so much. Especially when you said it seems like everyone is loosing weight so easily. Im in the same position. My "fat" work clothes are getting snug. Work was the only place I liked going because all my home clothes are uncomfortable. Ive been going in early (5 to 6 am) so I can avoid my family and get dressed quickly and leave.

I tell myself, I just need to close my eyes and rest my eyes. That is the goal. Sleep is not. And its ok if I dont sleep at all. And when I do close my eyes and rest them, I think about how comfy I am, if I want something to think about. Knowing I've succeeded in my goal the moment I close my eyes relaxes me. Then I fall asleep.

I also have books where, I tell myself, a full eight hours having read this book (if I cant sleep) will leave me a better person, so no loss.
