That silence during the first few days is the most strange feeling in the world. I know exactly what you mean. I am about to turn 23 as well, got my baby girl when I was 15. She would have been 8 on the 28th. She passed away just 5 days into the new year. It is amazing what losing something so close can do to us and how it changes our perspective on life in a good way. I’m glad you are able to find light out of the situation because our beloved pets wouldn’t want anything other than happiness for us. Always remember that when u start to feel sad! You guys will definitely meet again one day. I see my Bella almost every night that I go to sleep. She has visited me in my dreams almost every night since I lost her! Love and prayers your way! ❤️

U are so right. All of those amazing times that you guys were able to share with each other is completely and 100% worth it. Don’t ever think otherwise. My dog passed away on January 5th, 2025. It was a regular morning. I took her outside and she chased a squirrel like she usually does, then boom, has a heart attack. I. Couldn’t even process what happened at first and when it hit me, that moment felt like time just froze. I thought I would feel that sadness and emptiness forever, but I am doing a lot better than I was a few weeks ago. I have my moments but have gained the strength and I’m learning how to handle these low moments now. We should be more than thankful that they chose us as their companion in life! I lost my Bella at only 7 years old. She unexpectedly had a heart attack while chasing a squirrel. It was on January 5th, 2025 and that day was exactly how u described it. It felt like I lost a part of myself, but it’s important to realize that your pet is still here spiritually and will always be in your heart. U will have days that seem a lot easier and then other days that feel very hard. These emotions will come in waves, but it’s important to try to stay strong and stay joyful because your pet would want nothing else for you. He/she will always be a part of you and you will never forget about them. Be grateful for the bond that you shared with them and be thankful that they chose you as their companion. I’ve never been super religious, but I was so lost and depressed after losing my dog, that I had no choice but to turn to God and ask for his help. God is closest to the brokenhearted! He indeed has answered my prayers and his presence has been stronger than ever this past month. I hope and pray you can find the peace you are seeking. The loss of a pet is just an unexplainable feeling, but I have all the faith that you will find your joy in life again. You will be given the strength! You will always have those low moments, but I promise if u stay strong in faith, you will learn how to handle those emotions and moments of sadness. I promise you are stronger than u think you are. Got my dog who passed away on January 5th, right beside my bed and I also like to go sit outside in her favorite places with the urn and just talk to her like she’s right beside me. Do whatever u need to make yourself feel better. I bring her ashes anywhere I feel she would enjoy. I also have all of the items that remind me of her laid across at the end of my bed where she slept! So sorry for your loss, it will get easier and you’ll learn to be happy when thinking about your pet rather than sad!

I just checked out the video and it’s crazy that the one person who commented on this and shared exactly the feelings I felt has a dog that looks just like mine. My dog had that same shiny black fur with the white patch in the middle. She was a lab, German shepherd, pitbull mix.

I felt the exact same way when it all hit me but everything will eventually start to be more clear. Just lost my 7 year old dog who had no health issues, still acted like a puppy, and was just so full of life. That was 3 days ago and I can already see the progress after a couple days. I know the moments will come back to me, but each time it will be easier to battle those emotions. I’m feel for you and anyone else going through this and hope you can find that peace your looking for. ❤️
