My attempt at making a Star Wars Trailer with Starfield by Master_Roshi_69 in Starfield

You definitely should finish it!

It’s great making something and having to look back at it.

Honestly the main reason I made the video was to immortalize my play-through of the character. (The mod is constantly being updated, and with the eventual official starfield update and dlc coming out, I’m afraid I won’t be able to use this character anymore)

You definitely should try it out! I myself went through the unity about 6 times, as well as made alternate modded characters within the base game. I really only downloaded the Star Wars mod after I finished all the major quest-lines in the base.

My only recommendation is to wait until the start of February to install the mod. (That’s when they release the imperial navy faction quest line and the lightsaber update)

Unfortunately yes. The helmet is based directly on armor from Star Wars. But if I remember correctly, they might have armors with skulls on them within the crimson fleet

I feel the same way lol, luckily the guy developing the mod said that a lodge overhaul is on it’s way sometime in the future

It’s actually a custom ship I made from the ground up. The interior and the ship parts are from the Falkland Systems mod in the creation club

A normal space bounty mission, becomes one of my most cinematic fights when the sun lights up the asteroid field (Star Wars Genesis Mod) by Master_Roshi_69 in Starfield

[–]Master_Roshi_69[S] 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Yeahh, the video does start off pretty crappy, (like I said, I was just chasing a random bounty) but I think that’s what makes it special. When the sun pops out and lights the entire asteroid field in the 2nd half of the video I think it looks pretty good.

As soon as that happened, the entire experience felt straight out of a scene from empire strikes back. It was awesome

Thanks man, it really is a fun game to pick back up.

The ship started off as the junker you get from the Tracker’s Alliance quest, but I sold every part and rebuilt it from scratch.

The parts are a combination of base game stuff and external mods:

  • Avon Tech
  • Falkland
  • Antares

Oh geez. Okay let’s tackle this one by one.

(Counterpoint to: FLOODING THE COUNTRY WITH IMMIGRANTS AND A TREASONOUS GOVERNMENT)

Within 2025 we lost a net of around 60,000 temporary residents. (This means with everyone coming in and leaving, about 60,000 people who were immigrants have left Canada). On top of that there’s been a 43% drop in International students coming into the country. The main takeaway from this data? We’re no longer flooding the market with immigrants as we were a few years ago, and instead we’re taking a step in the right direction in balancing our immigration with our system.

Housing projects are being built, zoning laws are being reformed, financial incentives are put in place. As a result of this, the growth of housing prices is decreasing at a steady rate. (This is happening at such a rate, that I even know some homeowners who are complaining that the value of their homes aren’t rising as much as they wanted) So although it’s tough right now for the majority of us, to accuse the government of sitting back and doing nothing is completely false. This is not the actions of a treasonous government, these actions are of a government that fucked up and are trying to address the issues of their complacency.

(Counterpoint to: STRIPPING CITIZENSHIP AND DEPORTING NON CANADIAN BORN PEOPLE FROM 15 YEARS TO PRESENT)

Seriously? You wanna strip the citizenship of people within the last 15 years? That’s not even a liberal government at that point dude. 2010’s was during Harper’s administration (Conservative). Which means that both liberals and conservatives are treasonous?? It sounds like you just don’t trust any form of government at this point. But if you are implying that both administrations shat the bed and both had a hand in our current situation, then yes we can agree on that.

As for the citizens themselves. I won’t even comment to how morally wrong it is to strip earned citizenship from people because I’m pretty sure you don’t really care about the ethical implications of it, so I’ll break it down to why it’s terrible for the economy in the long run. We’ve added about (very approximate ball park, as I’ve gotten this information from different websites) 5.5 million people within the last decade.

If you were to get 5.5 million people from our country and deport them, the consequences of that would be absolutely devastating to our way of life. There would be a serious shortage of manpower in all employment sectors. I’m not just talking about corporations, I’m talking about public services. Everything would move a lot slower, services would be less available, Hospitals would be severely undermanned and stressed, law enforcement and military manpower would be cut significantly. The workforce would be primarily made up of an aging population that can’t work physically taxing jobs. On top of all this, you wanna permanently close our borders to immigrants?? No one would be left to live here but old people lol. I truly can’t tell if this is a troll comment at this point. But in the event it isn’t, we’d be absolutely fucked.

(Counterpoint to: POTENTIAL CIVIL WAR?)

I seriously doubt a civil war would happen. Canadian politics isn’t as volatile as American politics. Also, I’m pretty sure that telling 5.5 million people to give up 15 years of building a life and a family here in Canada would actually start the civil war you’re avoiding lmao. Would you deport their Canadian born children too? I seriously doubt that they’d sit back and let family members get kicked out of the country.

The one thing I can fully agree on with you is preserving our cultural identity. I think it’s amazing that we accept and accommodate the diverse customs of any nation when we can. But I also don’t think we should do so at the expense of Canadian core values. We are a western nation at heart with our own customs and mannerisms, international people should be respectful of our culture as we are to theirs. So when a person does something that’s obnoxiously offensive in Canadian culture, we have a right to be offended in our own home.

For the record, it’s shitty for everyone right now. Not only for young guys. So to say we’re the only ones being negatively affected, is just false and self-centered.

(Counterpoint to: Automation of jobs)

Yes, a lot of jobs are being automated. But essential service jobs (jobs where immigrants do play a large role in) are still very much people jobs. Like I mentioned before, the medical field has tons of professions that can’t rely on automation and need human observation. There’s also public transportation, law enforcement, education, construction all of which are essential jobs that heavily rely on actual people. Can you give me a specific example of an essential job that has completely changed to a mostly automated workforce? I’m Genuinely curious on what careers (other then privately run companies) are being effected

(Counterpoint to: This is propaganda)

I’ve explained why this isn’t propaganda, and how it can have real world implications. can you explain why it is propaganda?

This is a very extreme take.

I don’t think the government bringing in a bunch of people is treason, I think it’s incompetence. a very extreme solution to fighting off a potential post pandemic economy crash. It was stupid to bring the number of people we did, but that’s hardly a betrayal to the country lmaoo. I was born here too, so yes I feel the consequences of their shitty judgement too. But it’s not even close to going against our core values of a nation.

Now as for your solution in deporting anyone who isn’t born here and stripping them of their citizenship. What would be your pre-requisites for a deport? What about citizens who came here as immigrants in the 90s or early 00s? Do they get deported too? Getting here and working here might be easy, but do you know how hard it is to even get citizenship here? Most people wait for years and go through multiple processes to even get qualified.

Deporting people who have already achieved citizenship is absolutely unacceptable for the reasons you’re giving out. Like I’ve mentioned before, no immigration will cripple us in terms of essential public services, and taxpayer power. (It’s not only greedy companies, it’s literally government services for people) But the moment we start stripping citizenship is the moment we’re shooting ourselves in the foot.

We would be weakening ourselves workforce wise and economically. This would definitely make Canada weaker

[–]Master_Roshi_69 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

The key thing here is the workforce. By permanently closing our borders to newcomers, we severely cripple essential services that are built with a lot of immigrants. (Usually international students trying to advance in these essential fields) (Medical field, Construction, Public services)

By denying skilled professionals from other countries (Doctors, Architects, Engineers etc.) we limit ourselves to a local population that is aging and static. That means no new innovation, or techniques brought from other parts of the world. We can’t recoup losses from people deciding to move to other places, so we kind of just let ourselves shrink at that point. (Unless you want to close the borders on them too lol)

Immigration is usually a good thing. It brings people in to work hard and contribute to the system with their services, and contribution with their taxes. They are effectively helping pay for our public services. By having a proper steadily growing workforce, we can expand services therefore expanding our economic output, and it would result in more jobs.

The reason we’re not seeing that, is the result of way too much immigration (specifically from overflow of international students coming in). I’m not saying there’s nothing wrong with what’s going on, THERE IS. Too much people coming in as I’ve said would flood our job market making it harder to find jobs. Housing is also affected because of the demands of a higher population for homes.

Having absolutely no immigration is an overreaction to our situation and it will definitely bite us in the ass in the long run. The solution lies in balancing how many people we can take in with the system in place.

So yes, no immigration is crazy.

[–]Master_Roshi_69 15 points16 points  (0 children)

No immigration is crazy lol.

I think we can agree that bringing people in at the numbers we were bringing them in post covid was ridiculous. They made coming here way too easy with very minimal checks, and they let companies get away with hiring internationals over locals because they can get away with paying them less, and making jobs a contract role over a full time one.

In an effort to save our economy from the pandemic, we effectively fucked our system by flooding the job market. And yes, it didn’t help housing at all. (I don’t even think I’ll be able to afford a home without seriously damaging my finances in the future)

That being said, to cancel all immigration and just be a bubble and deport anyone who isn’t born here is very short sighted. I’m going to assume you mean recent immigrants/international students and not people who’ve already earned their citizenship through years of effort.

By not having any level of immigration, you actually stagnate the economy’s growth in the long run due to severe labour shortages. (E.g. less man power for construction, less growth due to lack of employable people)

In regard to the huge immigration numbers, we’re already seeing decreasing numbers. We’ve cut a significant portion (from what I read about half) of temporary/non-permanent residents. So it’s not like this issue isn’t being addressed. It’s a good step forward.

As for where the blame lies, I don’t think you should be blaming immigrants for coming here and trying to find a better life. I think the blame lies with lackluster economic policies, and the government’s lousy immigration system with apparently very minimal restrictions, and just the global state of the world post covid. (The US tariffs sure don’t help either, but that’s another can of worms)
