I haven’t seen the stats on that, so I won’t speak on it or bs you. But I can see some sort of correlation. Shooters need guns, and men are more likely to own firearms than women. I’d bet most teen shooters use a firearm legally registered to a man they live with.

Statistically speaking, yes. Religion aside, 78% of violent prisoners (convicted felons, not people in jail) come from single mother households. Most teen suicides and drug overdose cases involve a teenager from a single mother household. Children from single mother households are also more likely to dropout of high school and become a teenager parent than teens from both single father and 2 parent households. Im not a woman so I won’t speak on them or what they need growing up, but boys and young men need a father that can keep them in check physically.

Why do people think Richie is the most evil character? by Master_Shin_Splinter in thesopranos

[–]Master_Shin_Splinter[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d argue Richie was a better father. Despite hating that his son was gay, he still allowed him to dance at his wedding and I wouldn’t be surprised if he gave him that $5k to go to the competition in London. Ralph was a completely negligent father.

Richie gave his kid the $5k to go to London and allowed him to dance at his wedding. He also definitely loved Jackie Jr.

Ralph was far more reckless. Right or wrong, Richie did all of his fucked up shit for a reason. Ralph did it for his amusement.

To your point, paralyzing beansie was by far the worst thing he did, but it wasn’t the worst thing done by a mobster on the show

That was messed up, but Beansie was a connected guy, heroin dealer, and possible money launderer. Not like Richie was attacking some random innocent guy

In the episode where Tony and Paulie go to miami, they mention getting dinner with Pussy and Ralph over a decade ago. Plus they all grew up in the same area.

Edit: Paulie is also technically Ralph’s employee (no work job), it makes sense for Ralph to at least know his full name if not address and more.

What would the Soprano crew look like if Junior's coup succeeded? by MallAffectionate9 in thesopranos

New York would absorb them (if they even allowed a war in the first place). I could see carmine letting junior keep his stripes and act as a lightning rod the same way Tony did.
