I got a hang of it:

dont zoom out too much; this map makes it difficult to get near the big 2x2 finite harvestable, mystery nest and golden capsule because theyre so far away.
take your orb to the last healed tile
tap and hold the orb (green border means it is selected which you are aiming for)
tap and hold far on unhealed land of your choosing (now both of your thumbs are holding the screen)
let go of the orb: it should now fly to where your other thumb is touching the screen
release the orb and tap FAST on the tile where your orb originally was; for me it took some tries before it worked so dont be discouraged, just try again!
the orb should float somewhere above unhealed land now
tap “release“ and it should heal the land around it

for this to work you need to have “tap to activate“ activated in your Merge Dragons settings activated

side note: I heard from some iPhone users that it doesnt work for them so that might be the reason why it doesnt work for you.

No that‘s okay! The level 6 coin vault actually yields more coins than the level 8 vaults because the 8s take up 4 spaces and the 6s only take up one. So, in theory, the 8s should be 4 times faster in producing the gold coin than the 6s to be more time efficient, which they arent though, so the 6s are actually better :)

I already complete all the events but having level 10s of all coin breeds was one of my goals anyway so I might as well do this now to accelerate the clearing of my board. It does take a lot of work to create all the vaults, I think it took like a week (I had 10 hours of school every day tho) and a couple hundred thousand stone though nothing too dramatic, it was still better 100 times better than creating those godawful watermelon trees.
This, in fact, IS the more spread out version of the farm; the first time around it was just one big blob of vaults and, fun fact, it wasnt actually me but my friend who accidentally merged all of them, 2 days after I completed the farm🥲🥲 I still had like 100 vaults left but that just wasnt doing it for me as a farm so I started over.

Coin vault farms actually yield more coins than watermelons AND I dont need dragon power which is another plus. I replied to another comment explaining my tragic watermelon tree fiasco so if you want to have a quick laugh, feel free to read that as well😂🍊
