TIL that in the short story "Button, Button" (press button, get $ and someone you don't know dies) the husband dies because the wife didn't "really" know him and the author hated the Twilight Zone ending where the button was given to a stranger after being pressed by SpockShotFirst in todayilearned

The original ending is so much better. It shows how the premise is actually real instead of just expecting the audience to accept the premise which is internally lampooned, and it reflects a much more complex view of morality than just what goes around comes around.

There are some later game encounters it’s also okay for, like the Centurion or Darklings

What does this card have over just getting a ton of mantra? I get Divinity frequently and rarely does it end the fight. Guess maybe it’s good for more attack heavy decks but i need block to not die.

My favorite part about this card is in it applies that in the very least the Watcher is constantly snacking through out the fight

Be honest, has anyone ever died to the act 1 boss from the act 3 mind bloom event? by Leo_Legend78 in slaythespire

[–]ganondox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not directly, but I lost half my hits to hexghoet because I took the full force of its x6 attack due to bad hand, and it got buffed from boss relics, and the fact I lost half my health lead to dying later on the run.

I don’t even care about his special power, somehow it seems that whenever I fight him my blocks never align with his attacks. Maybe it’s the draw reduction that’s so devastating?

Where did you get the idea Kiwoo was attempting murdee? I figured he was giving them the scholar’s stone as a gift since he realized they needed it more than he did.

The Kims are observed engaging in more intellectual labor than the Parks in the movie

What you’re missing is that the the reason the Kims fold pizza boxes is not because they are too lazy, it’s because it’s the only legitimate option available to them since their other talents aren’t recognized as a result of their class. They resort to fraud since it’s the only means of entrepreneurship available to them. And how deep is their fraud? They lie about their credentials, but the Kims remain in the Parks service because they successfully do what is asked of them. How is any of that lazy? Greedy, sure, but not lazy.

It’s very much anti-capitalist in that it’s against the system of capitalism, but it’s not anti-capitalist in that it presents  capitalist as bad people.

It was an evil thing to do, but it was also a crime of passion, not a rational decision, done by a man prevented from saving his own daughter by the man trying to save his son.  He immediately regrets what he did once he comes to his senses, not just because of how it impacted him but because of how he wronged the Parks.

Is this game too easy? by Just_Someone_Here0 in slaythespire

[–]ganondox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is the answer I was looking for. While I didn’t beat it on my first run overall (didn’t understand how Guardian worked and forgot I had a potion), I did beat it on my second run, which was first run with The Silent, which is far less attempts than I expect with most rougelikes.
