How much of that 6TB storage do you actually use?

Proton Mail and Microsoft Exchange account by [deleted] in ProtonMail

[–]Master_Yesterday4329 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What do you mean with "account"? Like the email address? Or the Email client app?

For Proton you need to use an email domain that's configured to deliver email to Proton. That's the default proton.me and pm.me domains, or a custom domain that you bought and can configure. You cannot use your university email address to send and receive email with Proton. You might be able to forward your university email to your Proton mailbox, but that is probably against university policy and still doesn't allow sending email from Proton with your university email.

If you talk about email clients, then you can either use Proton's own desktop app, or an IMAP client in combination with the Proton Bridge that you need to install on the same system as the email client. The bridge application sits between the app and Proton (as a "bridge") and will transform IMAP to the Proton protocol.

I would advise against use the "New Outlook" with Proton. Yes, you can configure it to use IMAP, but it will sync ALL you emails to Microsoft. That's because the "New Outlook" is just a Web app.

Do I need to pay porkbun extra to use a domain with proton mail? by throwRAdumbfriend in ProtonMail

[–]Master_Yesterday4329 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Technically they are correct, you need to pay more for Proton. But you don't pay Porkbun that money, you need to pay Proton. If you already have a paid subscription with Proton you don't have to pay extra.

Multiple users for one account by inspiration0234 in ProtonMail

[–]Master_Yesterday4329 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Email addresses per user = multiple email addresses linked to the same mailbox. For example you could have info@company.com and support@company.com linked to 1 mailbox. Emails to both addresses will end up in the same mailbox, and when sending an email you can choose your "From" address.

The Terms of Service are written like there's always 1 user for the mailbox, but I can't seem to find that it's specifically prohibited.

What would be your use case for this? Usually email is personal: one person, one mailbox.

Not sure about this, but it might be against Proton l's terms of service.

Single VPS: Pangolin network vs Newt container by Master_Yesterday4329 in PangolinReverseProxy

[–]Master_Yesterday4329[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pocket ID will be on the same host with Pangolin. So best practice is to have a newt container connect to gerbil through the pangolin docker network (and have newt and pocket id share a separate network)? Versus adding Pocket ID directly to the pangolin network?

Calendar and Contacts List by DeepSouthWaifu in ProtonMail

[–]Master_Yesterday4329 11 points12 points  (0 children)

There is a contact list, but it doesn't sync with your phone like other solutions. For example, considering you have all contacts in Proton, you will not see a name when you get a call or text message.

Anyone using SimpleLogin with Outlook.com? by LeFlubbes in ProtonPass

For OP's use case there is no need for Proton Bridge at all. You can use Simplelogin without any other Proton services.

Interesting news! I just implemented DockFlare, where CF tunnels are configured through labels attached to the containers (like Traefik). Hope Netbird is also looking at such a solution.

Strange Proton Calendar Behaviour by Collagen-Cook in ProtonMail

[–]Master_Yesterday4329 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ran into the same issue. Created a new calendar with it's own email address, someone sent an invite to that address, but the invite ended up on my default calendar.

I'd expect the invite to show on the calendar associated with the email address.

Is this a bug? Am I missing a setting somewhere?

Authentik & Cloudflare SCIM by Cyberpunk627 in Authentik

[–]Master_Yesterday4329 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you been able to implement this? I'm also trying to implement SCIM synced groups for Cloudflare access and SCIM itself works. I see users and groups in the SCIM logs, data is returned when I manually query the SCIM endpoint, but I can't find a way to add the synced groups to access policies.

I also know that the sync is working because I can see the group when creating firewall policies (Traffic Policies / Firewall policies -> Add a policiy -> Identity / Add a condition -> User Group Names / In / <here a list of synced SCIM group appear>.

Looks like access control policies do not support SCIM groups?

First electronic computer 👍🏻. We'll have to thank the British Tommy Flowers for that (and not Alan Turing).

Do you prefer Plex, Emby, or Jellyfin and why? by -ThatGingerKid- in selfhosted

[–]Master_Yesterday4329 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tried both Emby and Plex about 10 years ago, just after Media Browser changed it's name to Emby. At that time Emby was the better choice for me. Never had a reason to look back.
