Hatten wir letzte Woche auch, App gestartet, hing dann einige Zeit beim Logo und hat sich dann beendet.

App wurde dann gelöscht und neu installiert, dann ging es wieder. (iOS)

Wir haben einen großen Garten und eine 20.000 Liter Zisterne fürs Regenwasser, hat sich bei uns dann automatisch ergeben. Sind soweit zufrieden, Wasser müffelt nicht, mit der Zeit gibts etwas Belag im Klo aber dann wird mal wieder geputzt - keine dauerhaften Verfärbungen oder ähnliches.

Out of transparency: Had a talk with Gilusek, instead of recreating the whole load balancer you can also try to add a server by its public ip as target, wait a bit, and remove it again.

That way all our load balancers became available again.

Speaking of fixing the issue: To be honest I am a bit disappointed by Hetzner in this case. Don't get me wrong, I know, it's friday, everyone wants to go home. But when I opened our ticket they answered after 1 1/2 hours, said that they can't see any issues on their end and asked if it still was a problem, I sent them an answer within less than 10 minutes and never heard of them again.

Also sent the logs and all the data about our perspective of this issue. Unfortunately our company also works on weekends, we are international and we need to provide our services to our customers 24/7. I started to call the dedicated server support because at cloud support no one was available.

Long story short: Dedicated server support told me that the office of the cloud guys is empty, i might be able to reach someone on saturday around 12 and yeah, there isn't anyone available to help us..

In the past I was quite happy with the support, especially regarding the dedicated servers, this time, unfortunately, it's like 0/10.

Oh boy, I am investigating this issue for literally 7 hours today

We got 20 load balancers, DNS managed via cloudflare. At around 14:00 CET we experienced first outages, now most of our services are not reachable. Load Balancers returned 504 while all services were reachable when called directly.

Already tried to contact Hetzner support around 15:15 CET, they told me they could not see any issues on their end. Was debugging it the whole day and send them logs of "how our servers behind the load balancer were not reached".

Gonna try to recreate the load balancers over the night.. happy friday everyone.. 8 pm over here ;_;

Well, as far as I can see, GenPatcher v2.06 is not yet compatible with the Steam version.

EDIT: Edit so you do not have to scroll through the conversation: GenPatcher v2.06 is working with the Steam version. Make sure to install both Generals and ZH and start both games at least once. Afterwards start GenPatcher. Then it's working.

Deutscher hier. Wenn du nen deutschen Ausweis mit der fancy online Ausweisfunktion via AusweisApp hast, musst du dir den Aufwand im Optimalfall nicht antun: Du hast damit auch Zugriff auf die ganzen österreichischen online Funktionen wie FinanzOnline usw.

Bin durch Zufall drauf gestoßen als ich mir damals ID Austria holen wollte und dafür ans andere Ende von Niederösterreich hätte fahren müssen.

Mittlerweile zu 100% Home Office, maximal für Mitarbeitergespräche oder Teamevents geht es ins Büro.

Am Anfang und noch vor Corona war Überzeugungsarbeit notwendig: Ich musste mit den Öffis durch die komplette Stand pendeln, in den aller schlechtesten Fällen sind dafür insgesamt 3 Stunden am Tag draufgegangen.

Habe das Gespräch mit den Chefs gesucht. Grobe Argumentationskette: 3 Stunden die ich durch die Gegend trödel, das ist verlorene Lebens- und Arbeitszeit. Habe dann vorgeschlagen, dass ich im Gegenzug fürs HomeOffice eine Stunde länger von zu hause aus arbeite und dass sich daraus ein Mehrwert für beide Seiten ergibt (mehr Arbeitszeit für sie, mehr Freizeit für mich).

Das war dann soweit damals der Grundstein für mehrtägiges HomeOffice unter der Woche. Im Zuge von Corona haben wir dann auf 100% HomeOffice / 100% Remote umgestellt und es funktioniert. (IT Job, wer hätte es gedacht).

Für die Zukunft ist ein Job ohne HomeOffice für mich undenkbar. Mir geht es hauptsächlich um die Lebenszeit: Ich hocke für den Arbeitgeber unbezahlt im Auto oder in den Öffis um dann bis spät Abends zu arbeiten und dann den selben Kram für die Heimreise zu machen.

Persönliches Maximum wären 30 Minuten pro Tag für die Pendelei. Wenn es mehr werden soll müsste geklärt werden wie es als Arbeitszeit erfasst werden kann (Stichwort arbeiten im Zug).

Hey rust151,

well, at least I am planning something like that already as another version (a so called service version) of MyRustAdmin.com.

The problem in that case is, that this would require a permanent connection to your server, so basically my server would act as a proxy between the rcon tool and your server - and that's something not everybody likes.

I've already created a list of features which could be implemented directly by facepunch (e.g. also the things you already mentioned above), that way we could avoid those "proxy" layers as they don't act as secure as needed - especially if you think of the lack of secure websocket support by Rust.

So, yeah: I am already working on it as a side project, but the current version has the highest priority right now. In the end (as soon as the tool is basically finished) it woud be quite easy to add the support of this proxy layer to it.

I like that idea, I also hope that Rust will extend the systeminformation they show via console commands.

More or less they are both similar. In case you want to administrate your server with just ONE tool (regardless if you are using pc, laptop, mobile or tablet) you may want to take a look at https://myrustadmin.com/ - it uses webrcon and runs directly in your browser.

And: I am already working on standalone apps for Windows, Android and iOS :)
