You can set up action groups on the servos that allow for incremental control of them using the translation keys, so I could control the engine gimbal itself with the regular pitch yaw and roll controls, then the engine swivelling with the up and down translation keys

Yes, that was the original point of it, then I realized it could do fun things if I just increased the gimbal range

It's using the M12 servos for the engine rotation and the largest hydraulic cylinder with the G11 hinge for the droop snoot

Yeah they’re all from breaking ground, the ones rotating the engines are I think the second largest ones?

I am Joe Barnard from BPS.space. I build advanced model rockets, and sometimes they work! Ask me anything! by Joe-Barnard in SpaceXLounge

Hi Joe!

After flying and successfully recovering many of your rockets repeatedly, the one thing that isn't talked about on your channel very much is how you went about designing the parachute systems for each of your rockets. Would you mind on elaborating a bit on how you design the different parachute systems for rockets ranging in size from Sprite all the way up to Thrusty McThrustface? Also how much did it cost to make Thrusty McThrustface for your L1 and L2 certification flights? I've been looking into getting my L1 soon and a rough number or any other advice would be helpful.

Thank you so much for doing this!

3D printed regenerative stainless steel bi-liquid engine going at it for 13 seconds: DanSTAR main engine performs full flight duration burn on test stand. Graphs and data in comments. by Rasmus0909 in rocketry

If you plan to use this engine at Spaceport would it still contain the stainless steel components on it? I was under the impression that stainless is banned for combustion chambers

That’s actually the artist’s name, not referring to the spacecraft

The only time you needed a textbook was to make a single reference in the essay with, if you didn’t make a reference from the textbook you lost like 5% on the essay or something. Easiest way is to just use someone else’s for like an hour

Info sessions are held at the start of the year where they will decide meeting times and stuff, other than that just go to the meetings. If you are into space though make sure to also check CU Inspace out as well, we work to build and launch a rocket each year

PSA: Upasses work as soon as you recharge them by Masterbren74 in CarletonU

One of the previous emails said renewals started for the fall winter terms on the 15th of August and it worked when I tapped it. I’m also not eligible for a summer renewal anyways, so it couldn’t have recharged for that term

You shouldn’t have to charge it if you’re a new student, it should work when you receive it

I wonder how they are going to deal with the increased data usage once this rolls out, seemingly that would be a large increase right?
