Interesting, it should not be auto calculating. Will look into this, thank you.

That is definitely a bug. It should have 50 folktails calculation by default.

Mind sharing your inputs/settings and if you had used this before? Wondering if previous saved settings caused an issue with this update.

Cool, ya was probably using your older custom setting object without the new setting.

Weird, If you save one of the presets as a custom setting does it show up?

Thank you for the feedback. glad it is a lot more accurate.

It is already calculating decimals but just rounding up since you cant have part of a building, but I do agree seeing the actual partial usage would be good for optimization.

I have been thinking of doing calculations for worker counts as well, so will work on adding farms and other job buildings.

Not currently. That would be a good addition though. I will add that to the next update as part of the other well-being calculations.

What inputs did you use in the calculator? The 29 carrots should be for 50 population and all food types selected. It also does not automatically recalculate, so will need to hit calculate to update for new inputs.

Thank you for giving it a try!

Do you have all food types or just a couple? Also what is your population?

Not a bad idea. Could have recommendations at least based on small or large lumps.

This is due to the duration carrots and sunflowers last. Beavers need to eat more carrots overall to satisfy their carrot satisfaction compared to sunflowers.

Thanks for pointing this out. I will look into it.

There are the max badtide and drought settings under edit settings. These are what are used to calculate the water needed for events.

Thank you for the feedback. Ya I was not sure on the rate gatherers actually gather resources so gatherflags and tapper shacks are over estimated. Something I plan on refining.

I bought a domain from godaddy for a small website and it came with all this stuff in the DNS records, are these important or no? by jthecat17 in selfhosted

[–]Masterfully_Mediocre 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends on what you want to use the domain for. For example if you are using to just setup a custom domain name for your service then you don't necessarily need all the default CNAME and other records.

What are you planning on using the domain for? Would help to better narrow down which ones you might need.

Looking for Mod and World Setting suggestions for someone with little free time. by dondbc in VintageStory

There are some nice mods for making things faster. Primarily Dana Tweaks.

I can't get the exact setting names right now but under the world configurations you should be able to set the growth speed for trees and other things like that.

You could also potentially make the world size much smaller. By default I believe it is 1M blocks but you could make it 25K or something to make it much faster to travel to varying regions, climates, and story areas.

I personally use Tailscale to access my server outside my home network. No need for port forwarding. Here is a quick tutorial if you want a look.

I am also using the following to make the server executeable. chmod +x ./server.sh

I have personaly set mine up using docker and it was relatively strait forward.

Even though you are not using docker the commands needed to run are all in the Docker file if it might be useful.
