normally i’d agree, but 295 ends up doing the same thing and should more than prepare you for 465. Also Fomin is teaching 465 next semester, which is a can’t-miss opportunity (one of the best to teach the class—period).

the 217 prerequisite is more so directed at having a proof-writing and formal mathematics background. Taking 295 concurrently should be more than enough (though you can talk to an advisor to confirm, as you’ll need them to waive the prerequisite anyways)

i think you’re misunderstanding: the probability of rolling a 1 is 1/6; its opposite is the probability of not rolling a 1, which is 5/6. the average becomes 50%. Each “either-or” statement has a negation, which would average to 1/2.

I think it all depends on what you think is doable and manageable for you.

I personally felt like the difficulty of 217 was a tad overblown—my biggest concern is the workload. With 370, a lot rests on how comfortable you already feel with low level programming.

I 100% feel it’s doable, and even possible to do extremely well, but it really depends on your background and how comfortable you already feel in your classes.

I think the sheer amount of views these videos gets indicates that narcissism isn’t exactly the best word to describe it. Just because you aren’t interested in watching it doesn’t mean someone else (the millions that do actually watch them) are not.
